You only ever get Goddess-level Shredding from these ladies. They were all veterans before Lovebites was formed. Miho (Bass) and Haruna (Drums) were in Destrose before. Haruna left to get married. Miho left years later. The breakup of that band spawned several other bands - Fate Gear, Disqualia, Mary's Blood, Mardelas...

I enjoyed your reaction to LOVEBITES Holy War, and thank you so much for promoting them with all the relevant info in your description including the link to original video and purchase links. Good call on the "fishman" pickups. Midori's 'heels' are platforms! Miyako, at 5'2" is the only one over 5' tall. Asami - vocals; Haruna - drums; Miho - bass; Midori - guitar left; Miyako - guitar right & piano. All their songs and performances are excellent and the Five of a Kind 2020, Daughters of the Dawn 2019 and YESTERDAY's Awake Again studio-live are also excellent sound and video. A song from Awake Again has Miyako playing a keyboard solo in harmony with Midori's guitar while also hammering the rhythm chords with her left had simultaneously!

They wear white so they standout when on dark stages, also they are small ladies, average height 5' hence the heels. The dresses are to create the "Gap" between what you see Jpop costumes and what you hear Power Metal. No t-shirts or jeans, thank God. Checkout "Swan Song"

Another excellent reaction! Midori always plays ESP. Here she's using an ESP E-II Horizon in Reindeer Blue. Yes, those are Fishmans in Miyako's Dean. She normally plays Dean, though she has been known to rock a Gibson Les Paul on occasion (which makes this Les Paul guy swoon). It's Gorgeous! I'm not much of a "V" guy. But when they release it, I might have to try to score one (if I can swing it). It came with stock "Zebra" style pickups, but replaced them with the gold Fishmans. I wonder if she did that herself, or had it done.

Even tho this is in Japanese, you can totally get theirgear rundown. Actually if you focus, they use tons of English. AcoGi (acoustic guitar, heads/ampu, cabbie(net), pickups, pedal board, all brand names, on&on, “minimalist”, “fat finger”, rich, aluminum... context is key to getting the accent www.dailymotion.com/video/x7o5e9w Right off the bat: “Reporter Asami(singer), at “Rehearsal , Ciao, guitarist, ok, (start with) Main... all words you know😉full accent primer in the first minute

I know it's an old video but just wanted to speak on Miyako's Dean Icon. While most Icons can be had for $500-$800 bucks, the particular model she has went for around $3,000. It's an "up there" model for Dean, she then proceeded to have the thing gutted. Changed up what each knob does, had a massive battery and silly big capacitors put in to support the sound she wanted those Modern Humbuckers kicking out.

Those two excellent songs are opposite ends of their genre spectrum. Epilogue is a power-ballad, their only song with no dbl-bass from Haruna. Thunder Vengeance is THRASH, powerful show opener. Great suggestions!

All I'm gonna say is this, since everyone else already touched on the Dean with the Fishmans, and the ESP E-II Horizon (by the way, Miho's bass is also an ESP): You could pull out every person of this band for this performance, throw in all of Iron Maiden, and it would sound the same. That's by design, since Miho (the leader/founder of the band) modeled the band after Iron Maiden, let alone her playing style. Next, I would suggest to react to Hammer of Wrath. Other Japanese female bands that you should check out ; Nemophila, Mary's Blood, Doll$boxx, TRiDENT, Fate Gear, Bridear, Aldious. That's all that i can think of for now.

You’re right about the pickups. Miyako approached and ask them to custom build that guitar for her. Then she added the Fishmans and converted the guitar from passive to active. She knows her stuff.

I like you guys but you blew it on this one. Your comment at the end that you would have liked the duel solo to go on longer is pretty ironic, because the main solo in the middle was actually mostly a duet. You guys missed it because you were so busy yakking at each other. Solo order was Miyako; Midori; Duet.

They did a nearly minute-long duel shred and Dirty-D was so focused on gear that he completely missed it. Just sayin!

Midori (blond guitarist) uses the Kempers. Mikako (dark haired guitarist) uses Fishman pickups on her Dean Icon, a Peavey 6505 amp and an Orange speaker for the heavy sound she prefers. That's true. Band Maid are more known for the "call and response" segments between Kanami and Misa (bass). But as Miku improves, who knows. I wouldn't put it past her to start ripping solos any time now.

Well Miyako's new custom Dean guitar has GOLD ones!!!!! Try Scream for Me (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b7WXZ8qnuLvRc6M.html) to get a taste of the Midori/Miyako riff battles and harmonizing that they do that makes them the best duo out there. You may like a power ballad like Empty Daydream (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/or6Ykth-sp-Ymok.html) where Miyako plays piano then jumps on the guitar to shred with Midori!!! This band is insanely talented especially LIVE!!!
