Lower ball joint and upper a-arm replacement on my 2014 Ram 1500 4x4.
Last year I replaced the factory ball joints with Moog Problem Saver Ball Joints. Well less than 1 year later I have replaced those with Mevotech Terrain Tough Xtreme Heavy Duty Ball Joints. I have also replaced the factory upper A-arms with Mevotech Premium A-arms.

Thank you for showing how to do this in REALISTIC 100% CONSUMER form and not ("today imma show you how to do this at home" ... Has a $10,000 lift in a 50x108 warehouse, $7,350 bench press). All done on the crete using basic hand tools most car guys like us(and gals) have and even that 1/2" impact drill and especially that Harbor Freight Jumbo pry bar! That $15.00 purchase has saved me many back aches and pita disassembly and torque spec setting for years! Great video man thank you. You showed people who really don't want to go to the stealerships and pay $4,250 for a 4 bolt installation and a press that takes even more time to take than you.

Just watch the video helped me understand little better whats might be going on with my truck. I had the same shocks installed set at the highest setting along with the rear 5100s and also a tuff truck heavier coil as I haul m y atv and pull a trailer. I find my truck still has problems over gravel roads and bumps. Seems like a have steering wheel chatter. The shop said everything is good except my lower ball joint has slight play . Would that cause the chatter ? Also should the UCA's be change since have the new shocks ? thxs

Thanks for the video! My Lower Ball Joints are starting to go after 40k miles (had my bilsteins in at 20k), and I’m going to get those exact same ones you suggested. The shop that did the diagnosing said to replace both upper and lower joints, but I had installed the supreme mevotech UCAs when I did the bils, so since they said they were fine I’m thinking no reason to replace. How’s everything been holding up for you? What setting did you go to on your bils?

Dave, I also purchased the Mevotech TTX TXMS25545 lower ball joints. Greased them and put everything back together. The grease fittings hit the CV AXLE and are damaging it. Did you leave your grease fittings installed? Just as you showed in your video they stick up 1/16 or 3/32 exactly after installation. 2015 Ram 1500 4X4 stock suspension and height.

@DavesBuild
@DavesBuild 2 жыл бұрын
The upper arms are non adjustable so it's a quick swap out. The lower ball joint will need a puller and a big impact. Lol, you don't want to crank it by hand. Also there are 3 tabs bent over on the factory ones that will need to be knocked back in with a big punch.
