I did it! My 2001 B4000 now has new lower ball joints, upper control arms, shocks and camber bolts. I took it in for a professional alignment, but everything else I did myself - with your help! Thanks so much Chris. You made all the difference. I would not have done this without your channel. Keep up the great work!

Hey Chris, thank you so much! I was driving the other day and the right ball joint on my car completely fell apart. So I investigated and found out I needed to replace the lower ball joint. I have wrenched on cars before but I've never really touched the front end/suspension before. After studying this video and tackling the replacement I successfully replaced both sides lower ball joints on my car. I cannot thank you enough for the excellent quality and straight forward how to videos you put out on this channel. Thank you!!! A shop wanted $320 per side and I spent $60 on 2 ball joints!!

Chris, could you tell me if I need to change them on both sides if only one side has gone bad? And is it true that you need to change your tire rod and have an alignment after doing the ball joint? And is it best to change the upper and lower at the same time even if only one or the other is bad? I’m such a mess since my truck broke down and I want to make sure we do everything right 🙏🏻❣️

A simple trick before installing the ball join is to put it in the freezer (or use can of air upside down right before installing) the night before so it'll shrink oh so slightly and be easier to install. Oh and blast everything the night before with PB Blast. If it's a classic car then PB Blast it a few days in a row before doing the work. I take this back. dont use PB blast. use half acetone & atf fluid. it's a whole lot better and way cheaper. i use the old atf. and you dont have to wait either. learned this the hard way. used pb blast on exhaust studs. 1st one broke and then the rest came off with ease after the new penetrating oil formula.

Hi ChrisFix. My 1999 Lincoln town car needs upper and lower ball joints. I went with eBay for parts. OEM Detroit. A lot less dollars. Also have to replace the pinion due to sloppy stearing. You videos are the best on youtube for doing vehicle maintenance. Thank you very much.

Wonderful video very efficiently and very effectively recorded showing the captioned task without wasting time slots that leads to boredom in many other's productions. For your kind heart that wishes to serve the public in this manner the Almighty must provide you with good health, happy home and sufficient wealth. We will pray for you too. Glad to know there are people like you on this planet. You must part time teach in some college evening courses on these topics. You have excellent art of teaching within short time.
