This weekend we replaced the 30+ year worn out suspension on the FC with new KYB AGX Struts/ Shocks and Racing Beats 1" lowering springs! Definitely one of the easier mods, and falls in at the price point of cheap coilovers.

Looks good! I bought coilovers and they're really bad.

You really have to push into a higher price range to get coilovers that match ride quality of stock suspension. Otherwise they can impede handling due to how stiff they are.

Hi mate So, have you played around with the adjuster dial? I’ve just ordered AGX fronts to go with my lowering springs, so I can relax the shock to suit the stiffer spring. (I tried stock shocks but it didn’t actually lower) How is it now?

Hey! I think I need to replace all my of original bushings before I can comment on this. The ride quality, while better, still feels super tight. My guess is that the 30+ year old bushings in the suspension components are offering no cushioning effect and are binding the suspension. Once I have those replaced, I will start playing around with the settings!

Have to ask why not the rb suspension kit with sway bars? The new front one is a monster compared to stock.

Mainly a cost thing for the moment, I’ve got a whole list of mods but have to line em up with the ol expendable income 😂 good to hear it’s worth it though! The other thing is a likely really need to replace all the suspension rubber.
