The engine on our LT50 was getting pretty noisy. It's time for a rebuild.

I have a 1979 suzuki jr50 i tore it completely apart split the cases replaced all gaskets and seals cleaned the carb did a complete rebuild with one of those amazon kits just to find out the piston ring end gap is too big. The spec sheet for my bike is at .14mm to .25mm ring end gap clearance. The rings i received are at .33mm so heads up if you order something for cheap then you will get cheap somthing.

I bought the same kit and it didn't have the little stud for the primer so I drilled a hole and put a stud in it worked but I had to make spacers between the cilinder and the manafold because the carb would hit the stud for the primer

Did you ever get this project done? I've been waiting to see what luck you have because I am new to the LT50s and just bought one for my daughter and was thinking about this kit as well.

Unfortunately, I'm stuck in a situation where the cost to fix is more than the value... so it's just sitting for now.

Just use Vice Grips to remove the old studs. No biggie.

Just didn't seem like a benefit to change them.

@@CJVideoProductions I have a 2005 LTA50 that has good spark, fresh fuel in tank, new carburetor, fuel to the spark plug, new complete topend (piston is installed correctly and all gaskets), still won't crank. Everything I have read online is no fix for this. 95 psi compression, All parental start devices are enabled, exhaust pipe is clean inside. Checked that crank seal as well. It was fine. I'm about to sell it for $250 if I can't solve it. Tried EVERYTHING aside from throwing new electrical parts at it (coil, ignition, start switch, etc). I see online that many people have the same problem and never solved it. :(

@@CJVideoProductions it wouldn't crank with the previous top-end or carburetor either. So, that's not the problem.

@@CJVideoProductions And Does Not Start, meaning, not a peep out of it. No attempt to crank whatsoever. :(

@@HorsepowerHouse check the crankshaft seals especially the one on the flywheel side. But either could be bad. If they are leaking it may not run at all. I had that with mine a few years ago. also check to verify that the exhaust is not blocked if you have that on.

We ended up finding a bad bottom end bearing, and had to take the whole engine apart. Over the winter it was too cold to finish it, so we haven't tried the new cylinder yet.
