Crazy, you are a genius for figuring out that no-go zone! Wow! I'm a bit surprised it got stuck in the sand being 4-wheel drive! I was gonna buy the cheaper two wheel drive one. That one would prob. get stuck on wet grass! Lol.

The technology seems interesting, but the Luba seems to work well only if there is a big, free area. The wheels of this heavy mower damage the grass and soil while turning over the same spot again and again. You need to clear the backyard from twigs and branches or a garden hose on the ground. The edges it can't reach have to be cut separately. Trees that grow lots of foliage after spring block the GPS signal. All of this makes a Luba more of a toy for enthusiasts than an alternative option for most backyards.

Thanks for your detailed reply to my Qs a few days ago on GPS/RTK. I appreciated your addressing the issue at the head of your next video. I have another question regarding comms between Luba and phone/tablet with their app. I understood you to say this is only by bluetooth. Is that correct? My (imperfect) understanding of bluetooth is that it has a range of some 9-10m (~30feet) in clear air. Using the app for defining boundaries, changing settings, etc, no problem. But to monitor performance or cope with failure conditions, this must be hopeless. On my Worx Landroid L2000, the app is poor, but at least I can be in my house and maintain contact up to about 40 metres away. Your thoughts.....

Seems Luba needs constant attention

When you said you were over 20k sq ft, does that mean that it allowed you to map just over 73,000 sq ft?

Thanks, got me to thinking. My main lawn consists of a large no-go circle diameter about 15m right in the middle of a polygon lawn dotted with rocks. The distance between the no-go circle and the edge varies from 2m to 15m (the lawn is approximately 50m x 30m). When mowing manually I do 2 passes round the no-go area and the edge of the lawn to set a border. To ensure I don't get permanent wear patterns, I then sometimes continue to mow round the central no-go feature in circles outward and sometimes I mow round the perimeter inwards. Also I sometimes pick a straight edge of the lawn and mow in straight lines obliquely to the circle. Given the rocks all these options result in frequent turnarounds or manoeuvring at the narrow parts of lawn. Thus I have a number of questions: 1. If programmed to mow in straight lines can you change the direction of the lines or set it to go in a straight line pattern but random direction each time it mows? 2. Does Luba try and mow in straight lines obliquely to the perimeter in a narrow strip, say 2m wide, turning round at each end? If so does it leave wear marks, especially if the turnarounds at each end lap? 3. Is there any way to get Luba to mow concentrically inward from the perimeter or outward from a no-go area? 4. Can Luba be set to mow in a random way as other robotic mowers do? 5. Is there a wish list for Luba enhancements?

Why didn't you just remove the area of the root from the cutting area instead of making a no go zone? Edit. You did. 😅
