CP keep them coming! I'm waiting anxiously for news that mine is ready to ship. I'd be interested to see what your experience with tech support is like. Maybe ask them why it died while cutting, share this video with them, and let us know what their support is like? Thanks for the great Luba content. I especially liked how you stood in front of it, just challenging it to stop, and then you moved out of the way when you realized your toes were going to get trimmed!

I know others are having issues with the 12v supply for the rtk resulting in poor signal. It's interesting that the base station outputs 24v to the rtk and that particular user observed much more satellite acquisition and a more stable positioning.

I wonder if as the trees get fuller with leaves they are more likely to interfere with the RTK GNSS. That’s a shame that you can’t see position or error messages beyond Bluetooth range.

My phone has to be connected via Bluetooth in order for me to see my mapped zones. Is that normal? What would cause Luba not to go home when battery hits 15%? found mine in the middle of the field out of battery. Do you need to make a channel from the charger to the mapped lawn?

Hi, can luba be placed under a structure like a slab of stone. I have a Robomow that lives under a 1" granite stone slab. Does luba always need to see satellites ? can it move out a few feet first then see them and proceed ?
@Crazypostman
@Crazypostman 11 ай бұрын
No that will not work, Luba has to be parked in the open. Sometimes even just having Luba up against your house causes problems it needs to be out away so it can have a clear view of most of the sky
@Crazypostman
@Crazypostman 11 ай бұрын
You could do that if you plan on only operating Luba manually. But if you parked it in a location like that you couldn't use any scheduling or start any mowing through the app. You would always have to come outside and move it off the charging dock manually and let it sit for a few minutes to get satellites before starting a Mow

Are your ultrasonic sensors turned on while cutting in backyard? If yes, what if dirt is interfering with sensors operations and suddenly there are "obstacles" everywhere because of sensors detecting dirt on sensors no matter what luba does?
@Crazypostman
@Crazypostman Жыл бұрын
It seems like ultrasonic sensors are always on, If they see something it seems to slow down and depending on your settings it will either go around what it sees or go slow until it bumps into it. At one point I ran my thumb over the sensors making sure the area was clean. Wouldn't that be something if Luba just kicking up dust was enough to set off the collision sensor 😂
Жыл бұрын
@@Crazypostman There's a thick layer of dirt on Luba in your videos, I don't think the sensors are somehow magically free of that dirt. People say that you can configure the ultrasonic sensors (level 1 is just bumpers, level 2 bumpers + us).
@Crazypostman
@Crazypostman Жыл бұрын
@ I washed off the luba before the last video scene where it was driving slowly for a unknown reason. And I believe it was in level 1 sensitivity already. That doesn't seem to disable the ultrasonic completely because it still slows down before it hits the bumper. So I think even on level one ultrasonic is still active it just allows an impact before it completely stops instead of level two it avoids the impact completely.

I'm curious what the actual costs are compared to paying someone to mow (still have to trim, edge etc or pay someone to do it for you), plus initial cost, plus electricity plus any blades or maintenance it needs... And I'm assuming these will last 3-7 years I'm wondering if you monetize all of that and compare vs having lawn mowed by a reasonable company

RTK robots need to have free sky same as the RTK station itself to be connected to the satellites. Many big trees and Buildings interfere with the signal unfortunately. LUBA should be connected to WiFi too or you add a SIM card (at the back of LUBA) to keep it connected. That helps to stay connected with all signals.
@Crazypostman
@Crazypostman Жыл бұрын
As far as I can tell the Wi-Fi connection does nothing to enable access, if you're not connected with Bluetooth you can't do anything with luba. There is a slot on the back that says SIM but as far as I know there's no cellular modem in Luba It is not mentioned anywhere in paperwork
@christianalbrecht2054

@@Crazypostman the constant Wi-Fi connection keeps Luba connected and enables notifications for you. No matter where you are. More advanced RTK use Wi-Fi also for positioning (smartphones for example). I hope Luba is doing that too. But even if not, you should get notifications and are always up to date, like live positioning and so on.

I certainly understand the bugs This is a startup company their first mower and I purchased it through Kickstarter so I give them a break on that but not having a cellular connection is a big deal. It makes theft too easy. Another thing I don't understand, Luba has a Wi-Fi connection, If it's at my house why can I not control it through the Wi-Fi when I'm not around? I should be able to see notifications program schedules and start it and stop it all through Wi-Fi. Maybe that will come in a future software update.

The luba seems SOOOO PROMISING! As someone who has a Worx Landroid L, which is nothing more than a toy because every time it runs over a leaf, it complains and won't mow, I'm looking for something that is robust, does its job and I don't have to keep fussing with it. The Luba handles big slopes, is AWD and seems very promising. Like everything else, however, if you get the first version of a product, there are going to be teething issues. #1, they've got to solve the connection issue. The inability to connect to it when you're away from the house is simply unacceptable. #2, there needs to be better diagnostic messages. Why did it just keep mowing until it die? Did it at least say, "I'm going home", then refuse to do so? And the slowness of the Luba makes me wonder if they ironed out all of the bugs before shipping this.
@Crazypostman

Issues are slowly being fixed! Since this video was made they have fixed not being able to access it remotely because you can now! Wi-Fi is 2400 and 5000 MHz those frequencies have more trouble penetrating walls than 900mhz. I'm going to make a video torture testing the RTK in a few days. @@Crazypostman Thanks. It is a significant risk with highly software or app dependent expensive equipment. For me this is worth roughly 8x price of a petrol or simple electric mower: ie I can buy 50 years worth traditional mowers for this price. When the above company goes out of business, the app could become useless and non updated etc. If so, how easy is to at least continue using the expensive toy?
