The riff he starts at 1:28 breaks me. He makes that violin weep.

Man, this is the exact video that got me hooked on Andrew Bird. This man is a genius; one I will be forcing my children to listen to.

This is the song... This is the video that made me pick up the violin and start playing. Maybe one day I'll achieve this level of brilliance.

it starts around 610. he has been doing that for years. you can find traces of songs in many tunes. he gets an idea and seems obsessed with it and trys different things. like the fatal shore line from oh sister

Current loc: a group home for the disabled, nuerodivergent, etc. Thank you for this song. I have a traveler's heart, but have found many of my new "family" among this strange *tribe* of misfits (and some hooligans). Our "crime" is being "different", feeling fully, dance and song, defenders of outsiders, fierce about injustices. My family history has been tragically erased by those seeking control of time and written history; your music often rides in my "medecine bag"; your violin and voice haunts and soothes most of my new compadres. Life here would be vastly harder without healing and hard truths you bring to life here. Fellow travelers: you're never alone. Stay on the path. ❤😊❤ Cheers, from a human being with a random brogue, whose family also looks "suspiciously Italian". We rode in trough Chicago and Texas (before it was the USA). Be true to your hearts, travelers. A tribe of one is a tribe of none. */saunters by, waving*

@bonbonbonification It's a series called "From the Basement" produced by Nigel Godrich (famous mostly for producing many Radiohead and Beck albums). The website is fromthebasement.tv and I believe you can buy DVDs of all the full performances. The series is famous for making the best recordings ever.
