Episode 7 of Sicily by Ape! The Secret Side of Sicily You Never Knew Existed! Exploring the incredible northern coast from Milazzo to Cefalu this is a stunning bit of coast that most people miss do to talking the autostrada (freeway) and missing a lot of this section that in my opinion is one of the best kept secrets of the Sicily! Hope you enjoy this episode and thanks again for watching and sharing this series with friends it means a lot!

Ciao Luke and thank you for another great episode! Some of the views you captured are outstanding, Those views at 9:10 are amazing! Having a coffee and a granita with that panorama must have been stunning. On a personal note, if all keeps going according to plan, I should be in Castellammare del Golfo on May 1st. I cannot wait! Buona domenica, Paul

Ciao Paul! Thanks so much for watching! I will admit that the coffee, granita combo overlooking that view with not a soul around was an incredible experience for sure! When you are here in may if you want to come to Cianciana and grab a drink you are always welcome! :) May is the best time of year to be here!

@@LukeRenard Thank you for the invite Luke. My plan is to buy a small boat for snorkeling and sightseeing. So, if you and the family are in CdG perhaps you'd like to go on a tour of the coastline? Would be nice to chat with another expat.

Winging it is the best way to travel! I know you've finished your 10 days but the north coast as you've experienced, is a hidden gem..!!
@LukeRenard

Agreed! the north coast is often over looked or people simply stop into Cefalu, Capo d'Orlando or Milazzo but usually taking the autostrada in between.. I think the highway through the little coastal towns is the true gem of the north coast!

Hey John! Thank you! Yeah the north coast has some popular spots but most people take the autosrada between them and miss the incredible coastal highway route

Loving your videos! Next stop is hopefully Termini Imerese! They have the very best gelato store just down to the left of the Duomo if you’re looking at the front doors of the church. And inside the church, on the right side, my Great Great Grandfather, Antonino Indovina, made the life size Pietá made of papier-mâché. He’s known for his art and you can google his name and see some figurines he’s done. The Virgin Mary case next to it was built by his son Giuseppe Indovina and the hand painted flowers on the original doors that hang on either side of the walls was painted by Giuseppe’s daughter, Agostina Indovina. This town is very low key and non-touristy, but charming with an upper area and lower area with gorgeous views just behind the church. Check it out! Keep up the fun videos!

Hey Kimberley! thanks so much for watching the series :) Unfortunately I wasn't able to spend much time in Termini Imerese on this trip but have since been back and it's amazing! Definitely hope to highlight it in another video because I agree I think it is a hidden gem.

Love this series and your chill demeanor driving an Ape thru Sicily! What was the stretch before Cefalu where you swam? Also you mention it’s off season but still perfect weather, what month was it filmed?

Hey Renee! So so glad you are enjoying the series, thank you so much for watching and following along! I swam at a beach just past Capo di Orlando on the way to Cefalu, not sure the name I think it was kind of in the middle of no where haha The series was filmed in May of 2022, I think its the best month in Sicily, still green and cool at night but hot enough during the day to hit the beach and there are far less people than June- Aug

Love the show! Have watched every episode. How do you get your drone to follow your ape? Footage looks great!
@LukeRenard
@LukeRenard Жыл бұрын
Ah thank you so much!! So glad you are enjoying the series! Please consider subscribing if you haven't already :) For the drone footage I sometimes fly it myself manually while driving however I don't recommend that as it isn't very safe or easy to get good shots. The other way is using the tracking feature on my drone which doesn't get the best shots but it is much safer.
