Recorded live in Paris, France on 12/9/74. An unfishished song Skynyrd never recorded for any of their albums. Great tune.

This song here is Top Notch, Ronnie's Voice is Golden Here, Nobody could sing and deliver a song like he could, Cousin Figel

Wow. Can really feel the raw energy of the band like you're in the room, or upstairs getting a beer out of the fridge. Nice rarity!
@Dagger_3237 жыл бұрын
This is why there'll never be another like them and why the current band isn't a fraction of what the original was. The current Skynyrd is writing slow watered down country while the original band was coming up with hard rocking in-your-face numbers like this…phenomenal. Will never be matched again.

You heard preacher man or workin, still unbroken, all funked up, born to run, these songs ain't watered down country , they are hard ass kickin southern rock, don't wanna compare bands but
@Dagger_3232 жыл бұрын
@@davidcoleman4291 I’ve heard them all. They’re nowhere near as hard hitting southern rock as the REAL Skynyrd with RVZ.
@davidcoleman42912 жыл бұрын
Now I didn't say they were as hard hittin as ronnie's bunch but watered down there not. All of skynyrd music wasn't in your face, hard drivin ass kickin, they had a lot of country flavor in there music, course that is what southern rock is bit a blues, a little country and good ole rock n roll

First time I discovered Skynyrd was growing up in Belgium on a special TV program about southern rock on French TV around 1980, been a fan ever since/ I'm pretty sure the footage on that program was told to be from the OLYMPIA venue in PARIS with ED KING in it (wearing a bandana if Iremember well)' so ir must have been this particular 1974 show-PLEASE IF THERE IS A VIDEO OF THIS SHOW ON FRENCH TV ARCHIVES SOMEONE RELEASE IT ON KZfaq OR DVD!!!

I saw earlier a live album of skynyrd recorded in Paris France in 1974 that was never released in USA, road fatigue was listed on track listing. Think if you googled road fatigue by skynyrd you can find album, its a bit tricky but nonetheless

Lynyrd Skynyrd did all kinds of music! Like Ed King once said, "Lynyrd Skynyrd fronted by a country singer Ronnie VanZant" That became very apparent even more on the Street Survivors album!
@SimpleManGuitars1973 Жыл бұрын
Yeah Ronnie was heavily influenced by country singers and so was Mick Jagger and Keith Richards for that matter. Ed King was actually a big George Benson fan and Allen and Gary loved Clapton, Kossoff, and Ry Cooder. Then Steve Gaines came in and brought rock, jazz, and country with him. His Roy Nichols stuff he done on Honky Tonk Night Time Man is still mindblowingly fast and his I Know A Little was great chicken pickin'. I miss the days when musicians were influenced by other musicians to create their own thing instead of just ripping people off for money like it is now.

@jazzy101357 - Sonny boy, it's YOU who doesn't know WTF they are talking about. Ed King originally joined Skynyrd as the bass player to replace Leon who had quit the band for a time (Leon had replaced Larry). Ed plays bass on the first album (Pronounced). He only switched to guitar when Leon rejoined the band for the second album (Second Helping). That is NOT Hell House.. There are only two known photographs of the inside of Hell House ....

@MrArnoldarnold14 жыл бұрын
I would agree with you however... those are definitely Bob Burns' drums. That may not be Allen Collins but that's def Bob's drumset. Unless you want to argue that Ted Nudgent's drummer had the exact same drums? Possible but highly doubt it

@The-Unreal13 жыл бұрын
That's Allen, not Gary (or Ted Nugent). The white SG was later stolen. That's not Hell House, it's a gig somewhere. I also believe that's Ed King on bass behind Allen in the picture, one of the few pictures of Ed playing bass with the band.

One thing Ronnie believed in most is bands, the undiscovered ones, I read how some bands he met on the road were very talented and unsigned. I pay tribute to Skynyrd by supporting local bands. The music industry has it's perfect cookie cutter bands now. Those execs need to be tossed in the ocean like a 38 special

Jus my opinion but it sure sounds like a song and guitar parts Steve Gaines would have played and written
