In today’s session we will discuss everything related to M109A6 "Paladin". If you are eager to learn further of this artillery system, don’t miss out and keep watching this video till the end! Paladin M109A6 is a cannon artillery system with self-propelled howitzer (SPH) developed by the ground system division of United Defence LP, which is currently known as BAE Systems Land and Armaments. It was manufactured at the Paladin Production Operation centre at Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Paladin was first developed in 1994 and is currently operated by the United States and the Israeli Armies, as well as selected by Kuwait and Taiwan. In June 1999, the US Army received the last of the 950 Paladin M109A6 that it ordered. Seven systems were requested in July 2000 for the US Army National Guard, and a further 18 systems in January 2002. The US Army received the first Paladin M109A6 upgraded to M109A7 standard in April 2015.

That matters a lot Less for mobile platforms. Towed artillery is where you really need to worry about range.

The M109 is just too old. And the great Excalibur rounds are too expensive for sustained use. But US doctrine has shied away from artillery and sph for more high-tech (and expensive) methods. But with Russia being belligerent with our allies, artillery is here to stay for the foreseeable future. The US needs something like South Korea's K9 Thunder sph, not just for U.S. national security but for NATO and other allies around the world.

Hope it goes into Ukrainians’ hands soon. M-109a3’s from Norway are probably outdated and are thus getting busted.

The main reason why every new weapons system is expensive is because its not veing mass produced. Like the B-2 bomber from some 200 or more bomber they only made about 20+ copies. American Military Industrial Complex have to recoup their expenses. From research amd development and intentionally delaying and intentionally creating manufacturing defects to jack up the price. Also they have to recoup the money they pay from lobbying the politicians and giving money for their campain funds. Also they pay politicians to pass laws that they have to order more munition. And finally they will pay politicaians and lobby the US government to go to war. Because what better way the American Military Industrial Complex can earn more money by artificialy manufacturing fake intelligence just like what they did in Iraq and Afghanistan. First its weapons of Mass destruction. And second Saddam Hussein allied himself with Osama Bin Laden and tell the American People that Osama Bin Laden have allied with Saddam to drop bombs in the continental North America. And even now America is preparing for war with Russia and China.

Now all 155mm barrels are L52 long, and reach between 30 to 50 or even 70 km. Hope USA wont send some samples to Ukrain, otherwise Ukrainians will lose the war.
