I'd imagine part of the speed is due to the intel laptop having discrete graphics with the Radeon, so probably sort of driver swap and silicon issue, while I believe the M2 is all on the CPU die and given Apple developed it themselves the drivers are likely way more optimised.

Yeah most likely something like that! All in all it's very impressive compared to the old intel MBPs.

Do you need to keep the 16'' MBP's power plug on for the clamshell mode to work?

My monitor provides power so can’t test, but pretty sure it’s fine to run clamshell on battery

@@squircle-design False. It doesn't work and isn't compatible with amphetamine app either. If you find any solutions could you let us know?

found a solution by using the Terminal to turn off sleep when the Mac is closed. however, it is very tedious since you have to open the lid in order to enable it, and then run commands to reverse it when you're done. :/

I have to decide weather to buy a MacBook Pro M2 14 inch vrs Mac mini M2 pro. Will the MacBook Pro keep up as a desktop setup without doing that annoying fan noise? What’s your experience on that. Sayin that I use it like for 2 to 4 hours straight

I just got the M2 14 inch Dude really he is great. I switched from a 13 inch 2016 to this so the gap is real But anyway you’ll love it!!
