Had some days off through the week and wanted to explore further into the trail system that was behind my house. Ended up doing 98klm, found some nice trails and stopped for lunch at a really nice warming shelter in Memramcook.

Hey Patty, thanks buddy ! we are super lucky ! it's all because of the clubs and volunteers putting in the work, AND the NB Government for realising that ATV's and Snowmobiles are a good source of tourist money.

Nice job on the Video...I need to get some GPS down loadable trails for the area. As I understand it, Parts of NB have designated groomed winter trails as well. We pretty much stay off them in NS as the clubs sometimes have conflicts with the snowmobiler's here. They are justified for the most part however, as the tires can tear up groomed trails. It would be nice to get on a few ATV groomed winter trails here though. Keep up the good work, great job on the edits as well.
@Maritimer
@Maritimer 9 жыл бұрын
+Trevor Boutilier Yeah in NB we (ATV's) stay off the Snowmobile trails in the winter, but in summer they are fair game. Also we have our own groomed ATV trails in the winter and some trails are Shared, AKA shared to connect two Snowmobile trails, making it better for them haha I don't mind though, the Sleds help our trails by packing it down.

Really impressive at how the people and the province of NB have been able to develop a great ATV and snowmobile trail system, as well as maintaining it. Here in NL we have the former railway bed that runs completely across the province. Unfortunately, there has not been a real desire in the provincial governrment in developing this for full-time ATV and snowmobile use. Probably because it is always a problem in getting all users to adhere to purchasing a trail pass (which I still cannot understand, as if you can afford a machine, a trail pass is a small price to pay). Here on the east coast (the St. John's area - most of the population of the province), the trend has been to ban ATV and snowmobile use on the railway bed. Thus, us ATV'ers have to resort to other trails and roads for our use. Would enjoy making a trip to NB and enjoy some of the trails. How much does it cost for a visitor to obtain a trail pass? Are there many places where camping is permitted along the trailways? Thanks, and great videos. Keep them up.
@Maritimer
@Maritimer 8 жыл бұрын
+D Smith Hey man thanks for watching, I worked on the West and East coast of NL for a total of about 9 months, i LOVE it there, one of the coolest places Ive ever been, I also have family in Sop's Arm/Jackson Arm, which is sort of close to Deer Lake. We do have some great trails, and in the winter there are groomed ATV trails, which you need a 4 season pass to ride on ($90) but if you only ride 3 season's the pass drops to like $50 (it's less b/c it doesn't factor in the cost for the Groomer to go out and groom the trail) and we aren't allowed on Snowmobile trails in the winter, but Summer is fair game. I'm not exactly sure of how much a day/month pass would be, maybe $10? you can email memberships@albertcountytrailblazers.com which is the ATV club I belong too, (if you have a trail pass for ANY club, you can go on any ATV trails in NB and NS, you don't have to have a pass for each clubs trails.) As far as camping along the trail, I don't think you'd have a problem as long as you cleaned up after yourself and didn't leave garbage. I have a video of ATV camping on my channel if you want to check it out. thanks again !

Hey maritimer. I really enjoy your videos. I have just retired from the forces and moving back to saint john this month. I just bought a brand new rubicon, my first bike ever so I'm a noob. I was wondering if in the spring we can go out for a ride and you could give this noobie some pointers?. I'm looking forward to hitting the trails and meeting some new friends in my retirement. I have alot of questions. Paul

Hey Paul ! thanks a lot man ! Congrats on the new machine !! Hard to beat a Honda ! Yeah it would be cool to get out for a ride, I'm super busy with the kid and work but I try to find time to get out and ride. for now, all i can say is just find some east trails to get used to your machine, maybe some old railbed trails. Then slowly progress to more challenging trails. The ATV will be able to do more than you think, they are crazy versatile.

Cool video! Jealous of all the great trails you have up there! Not like that in the states. I like the tires you have on your bike in this video. What brand are they?? Keep up the great work!!
@Maritimer
@Maritimer 5 жыл бұрын
Hey, don't be jealous, join a club, get some members and maybe you guys can figure something out with the land owners and stuff... but I know what your saying, we are very lucky to have so many trails, and really I haven't shown too many, we have so much more. (especially in New Brunswick) Oh and don't you guys have Hatfield and Mccoy trails down in the states?? those trails look amazing ! it's a 20hr drive for me to go there but I'd love to go sometime. The tires I like best and have on my bike are the Big Horn 1.0's ()they do make a 2.0 but I like the 1.0's better) if you ride more mud than I do, then look at the Maxis Zillas, they are great as well. thanks for the support !

Hey man, I took off from the trail head just off of the Leblanc Rd in Dieppe (corner of Leblanc and Fontaine Dr) but the better spot would be taking off from the car pool parking lot, directly off of the #106HY (La Vallee Rte) JUST Past that small lake called Folly Lake. Greta spot and lots of parking.

WOW, that is an amazing trail system in NB!!! Can you use all those snowmobile trails for ATV'ing in the summer?or are some restricted? (awesome shelter too!) Nice job on the editing. I liked the part where you went back to the shelter - nice touch! The stupid Spruce Grouse comment totally cracked me up! hahaha!! The 2nd one you saw was a hen & the reason she was running down the road was because she was likely leading you away from her chicks. Did she fly off & circle back after a 100 feet or so? I may have already asked you this, but do you use an external mic with your GoPro while you're riding? (your audio is very good) That was an awesome video Marty! Thanx for sharin'!
@Maritimer
@Maritimer 9 жыл бұрын
quaddingsous Hey buddy ! Yes all the Snowmobile trails are open to ATV's in the Summer BUT some of them go across farmer fields (so not allowed on those) and some go over ponds/lakes/swamps, which is hard to do in the summer haha maybe if I had a big Can Am i could skim across the water lol but yes they are all open to ATV's. I had no idea the Grouce would run to lead you away, she ended up just hiding in the grass and I left... thanks for that info though. No I don't use any external audio, I have the open back on my go pro, I was thinking of putting some fur like material in there to muffle the wind noise but I haven't found any yet. Thanks again for watching !

Maritimer You might get several extra views on this video. I shared it on the STR & SATVA Facebook pages so folks out here in Sask can see what a good trail system looks like & understand the value of ATV registration.
@Maritimer
@Maritimer 9 жыл бұрын
Thanks I appreciate that! They don't have ATV registration out there?
@quaddingsous
@quaddingsous 9 жыл бұрын
Maritimer Nope, we don't. As far as I know Sask & NFLD are the only two provinces who don't. We are trying to change that, but not getting very far with the G'mnt. Usually it's the other way around - the G'mnt imposing rules people don't want - so this is an unusual situation for them. I think we've shocked them & they don't know what to do - LOL!! As far as I'm concerned, it's a 4 wheel motor cycle & should be eligible for street legal riding if registered, but for some odd reason our government sees differently.
@Maritimer
@Maritimer 9 жыл бұрын
quaddingsous I don't know about NFLD, I know the old rail bed around the island is used for ATV's and you can actually book a trip to go all the way around the island. but I don't know if its Government regulated. I read that IN Sudbury, Ontario, are looking at letting ATV's on some roads www.cbc.ca/news/canada/sudbury/sudbury-paves-way-to-allow-atvs-permanently-on-city-streets-1.1303187?fb_action_ids=992056367486044&fb_action_types=og.shares
