Today Jamie and Mike go over how Milwaukee-Eight Heads outperform Twin Cam Heads.
At Moonshine Harley-Davidson we take pride in what we do. Something that sets us apart is our Moonshine warranty in the builds we create.
If we do a 128, 124, all the way to down to a 107 we are warrantying our builds during your initial 2 year factory warranty period. That way you have no lapse in coverage during the first 2 years before you hit that extended warranty.
Extended warranty will cover these motors, and it will pay what factory parts cost. Anything with a 525 lift or less, we warranty for the first 2 years.
If you buy the bike from us and we build the motor day one, we will warranty the first two years of that initial 2 year factory warranty. If you buy the bike somewhere else and bring it to us. We will cover the remaining time of the initial factory 2 year warranty. (For example, if 1 year of your warranty expires, then you bring your bike to Moonshine for a build and have 1 year remaining on the factory warranty, we will warranty our build for that remaining year). One provision is that we require service history of your bike and that the recommended Harley-Davidson service intervals are met.

The intake side is impressive and gets better with porting. The issue with the heads is the exhaust side. It can be fixed somewhat but doing so is expensive. Notice the popular grinds for the M8 have 15+ degrees exhaust added duration, this is by plan to help the poor exhaust port.

Yes, a four-valve head is generally superior to a two-valve but I'm not buying a new motorcycle. 100+ hp and 115+ lb/ft of torque rear wheel will have to do on my 2014 RK. Love the vids.

Bigger ports not always better.....some of these heads we actually find more velocity is better so the ports are actually welded,moved and made smaller. But whatever sells....

When casting remember to motion your fishing pole away from your body so as to not catch your fishing hook in your nose. Probably need to practice a whole lot more before using a surface lures as the tend to have clusters of three hooks.

Freedom Rider ESP doesn’t care if your bike was Flagged. That’s only matters during your factory 2 year warranty.

Wait a second, the springs used on the M8 are ~30% past the bind threshold. There is def excessive spring pressure on the valve seats, pushrods, and tappets.

Curious to know what type of Engine Management you guys prefer. I'm leaning towards Thundermax. Pricing a moderate 124" build. Heads may or may not be in my budget.

The biggest benefit to a Thundermax ECM is you get to keep your OEM ECM stock and can always reinstall it if there is any issue. 124 w/o heads or TB respond very well to SS475 cam. I would get bigger injectors.

What is the difference in a m8 motor and a 4 valve evolution head Bob rat Taft was using a 114 evo with a 4 valve head in the early 90s rivera made the heads. While the heads are the major contributor to horsepower without the rest of the components of the motor have to match the heads cam profile valve spring pressure combustion chamber and piston profile .spiral well now I'm not going to tell all . You got decent stuff . I got a sportster combo stock bore and stroke 1200ccthat made 120 .2 hp to the rear wheel in 1997 at the ami horsepower shoot out and still had more don't believe me look it up it's also featured in the quick throttle mag archives .

@@bobberguy1 Had a '83FLT shovelhead for about 14 yrs and the only thing I done to it was change the fluids and put head gaskets on it. And it was a running, cruising bike! Very dependable! GOT rear ended by another Harley and got totaled.

Question.. I and most of my friends who own 2017 and new Harley’s are experiencing some serious speed wobbles on our bikes usually while taking wide swiping corners at 100 mile a hour plus. Do you know what this is happening? And is so what’s the solution? I’ve heard everything from swing arm bushings to motor mounts

You want turbulence, just like in the 1920s. Direct injection exists and is much better, but would make harley spend a few extra pennies for their customers. Add to that their new warranty forcing us to stick to their breadcrums

cavscout62 it really depends on the head configuration we decide to use. Usually 2-3 weeks but we try to keep a couple done sets at the shop ready to go.

Does the power vision allow you to change the throttle response on the new fly by wire bikes, I have a FP3 but it’s worthless on the speed limiter but so far I’m ok with it but I been hearing the power vision will get me a little more out of bike then the FP3

Here's a FRIENDLY challenge guys. I'm finalizing a set of heads now for one of my 100 inch twin cams. 2 valves per of course, single plug, But, a individual carb per head, so yes 2 carburetors, but not fuelie. Apple's to apples as far as cubes, 100 inch max, and a dyno challenge for torque. You in ??? Anything goes, except the engine displacement. In fact, I may give you 10 percent, so you're engine can be 110. Thank you guys. Friendly dyno shoot out, I'm not being a internet douche. Compression and cam profiles are unlimited, but only 93 octane Chevron pump gas. Thanks, RIDE ON. Oh, and my heads are NOT billet.
