CLIP DESCRIPTION:
The second-wave attack is let loose on the tanker driven by Max (Mel Gibson) leading to a massive, destructive crash with The Humungus (Kjell Nilsson).
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Director George Miller's follow-up to his own 1979 hit Mad Max is proof that not all sequels are inferior to their originals. If anything, this brutal sci-fi action film is even more intense and exciting than its predecessor, although the state of its post-apocalyptic world has only become worse. Several years after the deaths of his wife and child, Max (Mel Gibson) has become an alienated nomad, wandering an Australian outback that has fallen into tribal warfare conducted from scattered armed camps. After a road battle with psychotic villain Wez (Vernon Wells), Max meets up with the odd Gyro Captain (Bruce Spence), who takes him to the camp of a sympathetic group led by Pappagallo (Mike Preston). As Pappagallo's people are camped at a refinery, Max plans to take their oil -- more precious than gold in this world -- but eventually joins them to fight a band of marauders led by the evil Humungus (Kjell Nilsson). The stunning climax features a heart-pounding chase scene involving an oil tanker-truck and a frenzied rush for the coast, with Humungus and his forces in hot pursuit. Nilsson is a scary villain, with huge muscles and a sinister pre-Jason hockey mask, but the stunt work is the key here, and it is more flamboyantly dynamic than ever, edited at breakneck pace and staged with manic fury by Miller and stunt coordinator Max Aspin. Savage and kinetic, Mad Max 2 is a must-see for action buffs.

The more I rewatch these movies, the more sense it makes for the feral kid to be Tom Hardy. The feral kid was traumatized climbing out of the hood. If Tom Hardy was the feral kid, it makes sense in his character arc that he was strapped to a vehicle as a hood ornament.

I can entertain this theory, although it may not be the strongest theory, but if you think about it Max was portrayed as more of a force of nature in the second and third film, a legend even. If they left out the flashbacks of Max’s family in Fury Road, it would definitely be a stronger theory I think. Good eye though.
@MeTaLISaWeSoMe95
@MeTaLISaWeSoMe95 10 ай бұрын
It's not. Max is a legend by the time of Fury Road. The movies are stories told long after of a legendary road warrior. Even stories that didn't involve him get changed to include him. He's immortal because, minus the first film, he's not a person he's a character.

@theanimatedamateur1472
@theanimatedamateur1472 5 жыл бұрын
@@ALF3Y One of the worst XD you must not see a lot of films; I kid. But, seriously you really do not see why people like it besides nostalgia? How about the awesome action, the excellent framed and dynamic camerawork, the tight well paced editing, the blood pumping score, the sparse but to the point and memorable dialogue throughout the film, the fun and crazy characters, the unique and cool costume designs and some of the greatest stunts and practical effects put to film that just suck you in as a viewer and make the world more believable? But, no dude you are right totally just nostalgia XD sure it is the film that launched Gibson on a fast track to international stardom, ranked frequently as one of the best action films and sequels by multiple outlets, has numerous real life inspired fan events that are attended to this day by people of multiple generations and was a franchise with a setting and story that was so harsh and violent but so fun and awesome as well that a new film was made all these years later. Yep sounds just like nostalgia to me! And in case you are wondering I saw this film back when I first entered college several years back so I was at the height of my critical film phase at the time and I loved it then and multiple viewings years later I still love it! So in summation just because you do not like something personally does not mean that it should be hard to understand why others love it ^-^ I hope you are having a nice day so far!

I agree with another commenter on here, Mad Max *_IS_* the Post-Apocalyptic equivalent to the American Western. Max is the lone warrior like Eastwood's Man with No Name, the villains are like the bandits, and the good people Max is helping is sort-of similar to a small Old West town. Cars are the horses, and the post-apocalyptic landscape is very much like the Old West.

At least two of them on the tanker truck died, that biker on the tanker trucks hood was crushed, no way he could ever survive this line of punishement, and what about Humongous ?? A hell of an ending for that chase... It sounded like Ebert had never seen the entire movie, but there was something I think I noticed about the original Mad Max, the guys who played the bikers might have been the Hells Angels of Australia... Not sure if it was true or not as they're nowadays seen like from the organised crime in a bunch of different countries... But still, if they needed a bunch of people to play the parts of a big gang of bikers, I felt that it made sense to hire experienced real life bikers...

Mel could have still played an old but tough and rugged Max. Showing an aged character in a movie doesn't make a difference if the story continues sequentially. After all, we aren't dealing with a movie character like Wolverine here. Even he was made to die in Hugh Jackman's last film 'Logan'. To be honest, he looked more badass in Expendables 3 than how he looked in his movies that he did in his 30s. The older he got, the better he became. Too bad that his alcohol problem and behavioral issues made him lose a decade of his career when he was at his peak.

1. I'm happy The Road Warrior and Fury road are rated R 2. I'm happy that Fury Road used real cars, real people, real locations, real costumes, real stunts. All the flames were real in the movie. It makes a movie so much more believable when those elements are in place. 3. Mad Max Fury Road isn't trying to win academy awards, or earn the most at the box office, or have the most CGI... in my opinion it's just trying to HAVE FUN and please the fans of this great franchise and NOT SELL OUT TO HOLLYWOOD!
