If EA ever cancelled the Madden franchise the worst thing about that would be no more Angry Joe Madden reviews. These are legendary.

The Sapien technology got to me. They say it's based on a real skeleton. As opposed to Madden 23 when they were based on, what? Octopus tentacles? What skeletons have they been using this whole time?

As a former QA (game tester) for a AAA gaming company, I can tell you that we do tell the devs what’s going on, the director/ execs are the main issue, their laziness/ lack of care gets old. You can tell them the same bugs, and see the same things on the next patch that they bring in to test.

Honestly, poor calling from the refs is actually part of the true NFL experience, so they got that one right

Hearing the announcer say "that gave me chills" made me unreasonably angry. I quit Madden years ago and that is still etched in my brain because I've heard it so many times. Somebody needs to put this game out of our misery.

I don't understand. How can they fail at making a simple game about a single sport so catastrophically? This could be a minigame in GTA or Yakuza, and it'd be more polished. As a single minigame. Instead, they focused all their efforts on it and made pure shite.

I remember in either NHL '97 or '98 as a kid, the anouncers would attempt to pronounce your created characters name. Me and my friend would love laughing at the attempts. Sports games are literally leagues worse than the late 90's.

If I had to guess why they bought the ESPN license even though they barely use it... it was to shut out the possibility of having *any* competition in the field of football games.

Such a breath of fresh air as a PC FIFA player. I went through this entire crisis with people hyping 23/FC24, the amount of disdain ea has for its own players is nuts. The crossplay thing ruined the game’s release cycle for us. We don’t even get together to play anymore. Bummer. Someone else desperately wants and deserves these licenses

The best part about Joe's Madden reviews is how he always finds new and dynamic ways to insult and degrade EA for all their bullshit. And every time he makes one, i feel like watching all or some of the other ones over again. It's like recapping all the previous episodes of your favorite show just to be fully caught up for the newest one

The fact that Madden 08(Ps2) is 15 years old and is still by far the best game in the series just goes to show how little effort EA puts in.

The hardest part of these reviews is I genuinely think Joe needs to add text for which version of the game he is currently showing because I'm constantly confused whether the footage currently being shown is from the current game getting reviewed or last year's version.

I wait every year for this review. It NEVER disappoints, unlike EA and Madden NFL.

He could easily copy paste the previous years game review and use it for a decade and still be 90% accurate every year.

I don't feel like AJ gets enough credit for his ability to turn the most lengthy rants into some of the most coherent review scores ever. Whenever he builds up to his rating of a game, I always mentally guess what he's going to say based on everything that came before, and my prediction always matches his score. It's a real talent he has since he actually uses the full 1-10 range, rather than just sticking a 7 on everything like most outlets.

I got my dad Madden 06 when it came out with my Christmas money. He played it for years. The franchise mode and superstar mode were good. I tried out Madden 2018 at a friend's house and I felt like EA owed me money.

Let this be a lesson to those who don't know what can happen if you have a monopoly you get lackluster quality because there is nothing else out there that can compete with NFL.

I was on the Madden team for ten years. Funny enough, you're spot on about a lot of things, especially Franchise. Wish the game could be good, but........oh well. Blame QA all you want, but they do their job. The problem with this game is at its core, not on QA. PS: Trust me, 90% of the senior management team or lead devs do zero gaming at all. They don't listen to any feedback outside of Reddit. They don't go to KZfaq except to post their own hype videos. Senior management is more likely to be watching movies/schmoozing between meetings, not improving the game. Love the yearly roasting, but I was seriously the only person on my team to watch them. They actively avoid the negative stuff outside their "influencers".

More effort went into this hour long review than the entirety of Madden 24.

I keep on rewatching minute 25 over and over again. The way Joe says that you can show off your gear online has me in tears each time, especially after Other Joe says that some of the purchaseable gear is a good deal. “Geeeeaaarrrrr” I can’t stop laughing!

MMG took a lot of shots in this review…and he absolutely deserves it. Dude makes videos clearly geared towards kids, spending thousands on packs and making it look awesome to kids with their parents card info and destroying the game for casual gamers

As a South African NFL fan who never had the privilege to play American Football, this is the closest we'll get to experience the sport.. It's depressing that i have to resort to playing Madden 07 or 2k5 as it's superior in every way imaginable to modern titles.. Keep doing your thing AJ.

What's crazy is that the whole injury thing still happens a lot because I play franchise mode and literally after every two plays throughout the game a player on my team or the other team gets injured🤦🏾‍♂️

Skyrim had better character face creations on reptiles than Madden does, and that game came out like 11 Maddens ago.

It's been a long time since I bought a madden game. The last one I bought I remember creating my own player and playing a season of football with my player. I also was able to put him through training between every week of play which increased his stats. It was pretty epic but it was along time ago and you probably can't do those things in madden now.

I remember playing All Pro Football 2k8. They had animations that tied to specific injuries. You could tell what part of the body was injured most of the time by the animation that played. There was one where the ball carrier would fall awkwardly on his arm, and it would always be an arm related injury.
