Kinda sad that the original has less views than the cover version. Maggie Reilly has such an amazing voice.

They only really have chorus in common. I hate that dance pop just beats the catchy part into the ground. because dance pop is great without that aspect. or without a pointless kick and snare beat for 2 minutes before the song starts.

Its been covered again, in the netherlands a group used the exact tune and sped it up even faster then cascada did. Different lyrics though

Still a wonderful song to listen to in repeat. How I miss listening to the radio late at night waiting for songs like this to play so that I could record them on a cassette and then have my quality playlist. There was something magic that got lost on the way. I feel that the more we evolute, the more we quickly lose innocence and appreciation for simple things like listening to a good song with the heart and not with the ears.

Take a listen to Keep on Loving you from the mid 80s, by REO Speedwagon. Another very produced album. Good musicians, but the sound comes from the mixing board.

I wouldnt go that far. It´s a solid popsong, but it should be rearranged at 1.25 Speed. It´s a little bit (how to put it) slow otherwise.
@UMBR.8 ай бұрын
Can we also add Lyrics 10/10 Cascada's original lyrics for their verses are rather basic and simple. Whereas Maggie's original verse lyrics are more imaginative and poetic, with storm analogies.
@UMBR.8 ай бұрын
@@Eurician Have to disagree on that. I love fast tunes, especially dance music, and I even like Cascada's version of this. But Maggie's original is perfect as is. The slower pace is necessary and complimentary to the drifty nature of the song and Maggie's floating vocals. Floaty and drifty, as lame a description as it sounds, is literally the character of the song.

@@Lakin3 Admittingly, the Cascada one was my first introduction to this song as well back in 2005. Fun fact, one of the producers of Cascada also had a moderate hit in my country (NL) with a cover of Bryan Adams " Heaven" ft. singer Do. And EC is just pure positive chaos and the funniest discovery in bands i had for a while now thanks to Tank the Tech (i love this YT rabbithole). Her voice rings like a gentle bell. Never knew the singer, but have heard this song many time, as well as Moonlight Shadow. Always wondered who the singer was. Thanks to the Internet - now I know!

For me, this is the greatest Song of all time. This voice together with Mike Oldfields Guitar is absolutely a Dream. I miss Music like that so much today.

Angelic voice of Maggie accompanied by the chords of the excellent Peter Weihe when he breaks down crying with his guitar, a magical combination.
