A truly incredible biography of a man who was such a familiar face for many years, but always in, dare I say it, secondary roles. When I read the title I assumed, I'm sorry to say, he went off the rails and we'd lost him. But quite the contrary, he's found himself and is enjoying life in the best way possible, helping others. Daniel, if you're checking back for comments on this, well done sir, you've entertained us and still doing so for a smaller but no less appreciative audience. Full marks mate.

What a humbling story. I was genuinely emotional at the end. A face from my childhood. Even the Steakhouse burgers and Do it all adverts I remember loving the songs as a kid. Interestingly my mates dad John Metcalfe was the cameraman on the comic strip so he would of worked with Daniel over the years. To see what he's doing now,. Well done Daniel, you're a top bloke and thanks for this video. Subscribed

I came for a touch of nostalgia, I was not expecting to be overcome with admiration. Seeing Daniel's name on a film or TV show in the 80's guaranteed I'd enjoy it. He was just such a watchable actor. His physical presence, twitchy persona and immaculate timing were a real pleasure. There was something of the charisma of Norman Wisdom about him, he could turn a simple line or scenario into a performance all of its own. I never understood why I kept seeing him in supporting roles instead of leads, I was always left wanting to see more of his characters. He could easily have driven a film but he always lit up the screen as a 'fast, flash passenger'. Legend!

I remember Daniel in many things but had no idea how diverse his career had been. The Comic strip parts were my main memory of him. I had no idea who his father was and that was a nice surprise. So amazing that he has gone into Care Home Nursing and much respect as my own mother has dementia and my dad has cancer. Both in their early 90s I am lucky to still have them. I did have the honour of knowing his dad; as a customer of mine when I was a cabbie and then afterwards when I worked in the care home where his dad lived. Spent a bit of time sitting and looking through his albums, a lovely man sadly missed. It's such an honourable thing that Daniels doing now, working in a care home.

I always enjoy watching Danny on TV, for me he embodies the typical Jack the Lad cockney rogue. Even the commercials (like the old “Do It All” adverts) are good. I always think of him as the front man of the band that Rodney (Only Fools & Horses) was in, angrily reminding everyone that it was his job to do the “one-two-three-fours” before they started playing.

Daniel is a year older than me I remember seeing him pop up all over the place on the TV especially the ads .. those Steakhouse Grills were really ‘orrible though .. Robin Hood was one of my favourites along with Marleys Ghost. His Dad came as a surprise so was finding out I was still following his work when I watched CBBC with my children. What a talented man and obviously a very caring one, I’ve done the job he is doing now it’s hard work and can be emotionally draining. I’m so glad he’s still got his health and a happy life. I always enjoyed Daniel's work - I adore 'Party Party' - a very funny and endlessly quotable movie, and he receives a very funny headbutt into a roller shutter in 'A Fistful Of Traveller's Cheques', from his best friend, Mr Bastardos (Keith Allen). I also have his single 'Why Don't Pretty Girls Look At Me', made by his band 'The Wild Men Of Wonga', which is actually pretty damn good. I knew he'd completely changed his life, and I'm very happy that he's happy. His dad was a legend, too. Sad he's gone. Lovely video, thank you

Wow..what a fantastic career, from the forefront of what was the beginnings of alternative comedy, the brilliant and talented comic strip series, a part in Porridge, ONLY Fools & Horses, One Foot In The Grave, The Bill, and if that wasn't enough, Robin Hood along side Hollywood Royalty Kevin Kostner, God I would love to hear about his experiences, although we did get a small insight of those days. After years of seeing this brilliant actor I am ashamed to admit that only today after clicking onto your video, did I finally find out his name, the face is instantly recognisable but like with so many character actors, I never know their names. Some of the TV shows I grew up watching, I had no idea he was the writer behind them! And if that wasn't enough, I hadn't realised that the actor from The Vicar Of Dibley was his dad, your video has certainly been an education!! I love what Daniel said about working at the care home, the fact that when he was acting he earned quite a lot of money for doing very little and now he works harder than ever for very little pay, BUT you can tell how much satisfaction he gains by working there and helping others out...somehow I can't see Julia Roberts helping out in a care home!! So much Love & Respect for this guy, and a huge THANK-YOU to you buddy for posting this great video, as I've said, it's taught me many things I didn't know about, fantastic job. I wish Daniel a very long and healthy life, may he continue to enjoy his time between acting and helping out at the Care Home, what a top guy. God Bless!!

Always remember Daniel Peacock for being one of them rare actors that if you knew he was in something you had to watch. An amazing career and fully deserved. This video was brilliant and so informative about a man that many of us grew up watching . Live long and party party!

I grew up with a lot of his films and comedies - he should of been more famous as an actor - thank you for this montage - he doesn't get enough credit for his work and massive respect now he works in a care home now. A brilliant, archetypal English actor!

That was a superb watch that Mark, enjoyed every second of it, When I think of Daniel Peacock its 2 things, Party Party (which always sticks in my mind, and i never seen it since it first came out) and Mental Mickey, John Sullivan was a Genius and was bang on saying Daniel is the only man for that part, never knew Daniel had done so much, Twice with David Thewlis aswell, Valentine Park and Mental Mickeys band mate, the nationals did do a bit on him a while back on his carehome work, but this was far more informative, good luck to the guy.

He’s so like his dad, Trevor. Loved him as Mental Mickey in OFAH. There is also another Peacock brother, Harry who’s also very much like his father. Harry and Trevor appeared as father and son in Kingdom. Interesting biography of a talented man from a talented family.

For some reason Daniel seems to have been part of my life for many years, such a distinctive character epitomised for me in party party (which he actually wrote) as this typified my life at the time. Cortinas superdreams and house parties in London. He always played the Character that needed to come across as that kid in school as "a bit of a nutter" with his stuttering delivery and twitches and hyper activity, it seems that this is his real self , I wonder if he would be diagnosed with adhd nowadays. Anyway a great memorable actor and fantastic to see him helping out in the caring community.

I've often wondered about Daniel. I went to the same primary school (Cromer Road, New Barnet), and although I'm sure he won't remember me, I do remember him always being centre stage in the playground, and back then at the age of about 9 or 10 him declaring that he would become an actor. My step father (Gerry Poulson) was a tv and commercials director and I also wondered whether Daniel had ever worked with him - and this wonderfully put together documentary has confirmed that indeed they had, in 'The Price of Fame' episode of Pulaski. If there were any way that Daniel gets to read these comments, I would love to have my best regards passed on to him. Thank you.
