Here’s how to make a long wearing, weather resistant pallet log store. It’s the perfect place to store all your fire wood, freeing up room in the shed. This wood store has a simple design with easy to follow plans.
So, if you’re looking for an upcycling project to use up old pallets, this is a great DIY project to start with. Got loads of logs? You can make the store as big or small as you like, and you can even use it to store things in that would usually go in the shed.

Tools and supplies you’ll need:
- Old Pallets
- Screws and screwdriver
- Pencil and tape measure
- Saw
- Drill and drill bit
- Wood for supports and roof
- Roofing felt
- Nails

That actually was very easy! I don't know this felt material on the top but the roof looked like it was not some kind of strong material. However, I think as long as it won't get wet over time, it seems like it will do the job!

I’m 14 and I went down my road earlier and saw there was a house with 8 pallets outside so I asked the builders and they let me take them. i roughly based my design off of yours I might upload it to my channel soon.

Thanks Warren, great use of pallets which so often are thrown in skips. I was looking for a cheap log shed but seeing this has inspired me to go build my own.

That's very resourceful and looks good, but I would definitely use exterior ply for the roof, not hardboard. Even with decent felt there will always be moisture and condensation in any outdoor wooden structure, hardboard will warp and loose structural integrity very quickly. Also don't bother with pilot holes, just buy decent sharp screws and drive them in.

Nice video. Very small log store but I suppose you could double it with an extra pallet.

This looks fairly easy. The pallet at 34 secs looks unusual though, with laths running the other way not seen one like that where I live. The pallet for the back looks like it wouldn't fit in a car. What size is it? Thanks

Good job. But I'd use pallet wood for the roof and cover with felt. Unless you already have a piece of hardboard, why not use free pallets?

you need a wood base . some strips of wood across the bottom to keep the wood off the ground and away from the rain and yes exterior ply for the roof hardboard will become a soggy mess. I need a wood store about 3 times bigger than this...

Trying to build this and I’m having to attempt the roof AGAIN. Have cut the wood 5cms bigger than the structure but still too small. Should the wood be 5cms each end????

The instructions were not correct on the video unfortunately - the batten actually needs to be the width of the wood store + 5cm PLUS 2x width of the batten that will be fixed perpendicular to make the frame. In this example on the video it needs to be the width of the wood store + 5cm PLUS 100mm Hope that helps if you haven't already worked it out 👍

Skips everywhere...building supplies often delivered on pallets..or drive around an industrial estate and you often see pallets stacked up by skips. Just make sure you ask because some people sell them.
