I have made this excellent soup THREE TIMES already. My husband and I cannot get enough of this delicious soup. I do add red pepper flakes for added spice. We eat it any time of day. Breakfast, lunch and dinner!! I have cooked my whole life, my late Mother was an excellent cook, and I learned from the best, Always ready to learn more. BTW, I serve this soup HOT HOT HOT, with a nice scoop of sour cream. MmmmmMmmmm GOOD.

Omg I have cooked all my life and the standard cabbage soup I just could not get a handle on the flavor. Seen your recipe and flew to the store. I always fry off my veggies first to release the flavor then I add the meat and today I used ground chicken and followed your recipe to a tee and there will be no other way to cook cabbage soup again for me. It was sooo good. Thanks for sharing.

👍👍I usually make a standard cabbage soup, and being that it's just me it lasts a while. But next time I make it and eat it a few times I will add taco seasoning, Rotel diced tomatoes with green chilies and turn it into taco/tex mex cabbage soup.

I bet you could do that to the one that is just cabbage and vegetables to for weight loss when you add the ground beef it it pretty much makes it you know like a regular stew and it’s not gonna bring the weight loss that straight vegetables will but your flavorings I don’t know why that couldn’t go in a straight vegetable cabbage soup and just taste better while we’re losing weight

your cabbage's not properly cooked. it should be clear it when finished not partly white. it needs another 15 minutes to go opaque/clear or it can cause gas, bloating & diarrhea.
