I went from an average hour in the gym. Hitting the weights hard every day. Then 3 weeks ago I started a 12 week Pilates program and my body has responded insanely. I only do it for 10-20 minutes a day. I take an hour walk (not everyday) because I have a desk job and need to walk or I won’t. The body has really responded! These guys know a thing or two because they have seen a thing or two!

This is so me. Years of consistent training (even when I travel) because I love how I feel when I train. The thought of training less gives me anxiety! I've started to cut back on volume so I can still go 6 days a week.

Me too. Was doing three full body workouts a week but now I perform the same volume of exercises over 6 days. I also don’t do a long morning walk any more. I split up the walk time between early morning, after breakfast, after lunch and sometimes one before dinner. My energy has skyrocketed! And the weight is starting to come off.

I love the shift in fitness from the “no days off” era to learning that sometimes less is more. I’m recovering from the no day off mentality 😅😂 but absolutely know and have experienced more progress in backing down my volume. Thanks for always putting out quality and entertaining content!

It wasn’t until one of your recent episodes I realized I don’t get near enough sodium in my diet. That was further confirmed after a recent ER visit where I was told I’m low on sodium. I had no idea sodium was so critical. Thanks for the valuable information!

I’ve recently done this in my workouts and it’s almost revived my body, bringing down the volume and focusing on posture and correct rom has helped my strength tremendously. I’ve played football all my life and I’ve been in fitness for about 7 years training for 4! I love this podcast, thanks for all the knowledge!

Birth control helped me a lot. I had periods so intense that I wouldn’t be able to see straight. Worse than the ovation torsion I had years later. It also cured my cystic acne. I did gain weight but the benefits outweighed the negatives and I’m grateful

Great information I’m still working on less can be more when it comes to training at 49 deep into menopause my body really finds it harder to recover but I’m so worried about all the negative things like fat gain, tiredness, low libido during this phase that training is the one thing I have control over and it makes me feel so good at the time. Working in the fitness space also so I’m active every day. Please keep up the amazing content you have changed my whole approach to fitness and wellness m, I still have a lot to do but I’m getting there 😊😊

I’ve been working out over 7 years for my mentality, the gains are just a bonus! This is SO me! I know I tend to over train bc I’ll always be sore and my hip will be killing me. Butttt I feel terrible when I skip workouts. It’s something I struggle with for sure. It’s nice to hear someone talk about this.

I definitely have this issue Sal , if I spent time away from the gym i often saw big performance gains , I also love to be at the gym so telling me to do less is like a punishment. Trigger sessions and prime fortification days makes it easier.

Thank you gents. Been doing this 10-day split to alleviate CNS bleed-over to other workouts. This became an issue after years of consistency and I really started noticing SFR interference. So based on this idea, I think I will extend that concept and try out a 15-day split (1 on 2 off) for the rest of my maintenance phase though Sept and see how things go. I think the hidden bonus here is the ability to increase per-workout volume because the recovery-phase is more pronounced.

@@ricksgiggle8852 yes 1on 1off an 1on 2off respectively. Over the last 2 weeks I am recovering well but I feel like I need some activity during the 2 days so I am going to move sprints and walks to the "off" days and just do weights and sauna on the "on" days.

@@ricksgiggle8852 If I interpreted what he said correctly, he means that he does his "full-body" workout over the course of 10 days, instead of 7, and then restarts. Instead of Monday->Sunday to get all your workouts in he's doing Monday->following Wednesday.

For years I was told by doctors to "eat less, exercise more." Worked my way into eating disorders, addictions. 20 years of begging to have my thyroid looked at seriously (other health issues-infertility, difficulty swallowing, joint swelling, just to name a few). Finally after my fight of being heard, got proper care, I got diagnosed with mestatic papillary thyroid cancer. Age 44. 8 years later I still find myself struggling with letting go of the "Eat less, exercise more" comments from my doctors. I know, they lack knowledge and training but, for the last year I have hired a coach, on a journey to compete. My goal is to push my body as far as I can working my way into physique and bodybuilding. I struggle hitting my macros (mental struggle. Yes I'm in counseling). The process is frustrating as with post thyroid cancer care, we often have to see our doc frequently. My endocrinologist keeps saying "competitors eat too much, you will never meet your body goals eating like that. 1535 call is where I'm set at. I'm gaining weight! (Granted tons of stress, moved, job, night shift and now an injury from work which took me out of the gym) . But not seeing my body start to shift, not seeing transformation, is so frustrating! I'm not blaming my thyroidless body but fuck! This is so much harder compared to when I had my diseased thyroid. I am or was set on weight training. Cardio was my normal daily dog walks and trail hikes (with my dog) . I'm struggling with trying to find balance in trusting the process and not going back to the doctors standard diet recommended 1200 cals. Which I know I'll be in disordered eating and starving my body and preventing my gains. I'm just frustrated. Lol And I don't want to quit. But man!

6-8 hours a day, 7 days a week, for a year and a couple of months. took prolly 2 weeks worth of fatigue days, in total, over that year and a couple months period. went from 178 lbs w 30-35 percent body fat to 123.6 lbs w 9.5 percent body fat.

This is soo true. I did one bodyweight exercise for each body part three times a week and got much stronger in my push ups, body weight pull ups, rows, planks and pistol squats. To me forever when I was in the one of these normal bodybuilding program.

The days I don’t make it to the gym I work out at home with lighter weights and focus on tempo and the squeeze, and then move to more body weight work and can almost hand stand. I love having one day a week to change up the programming and a de-load here and there.

I am 58 and just started HIT, Mentzer style. Going well so far. The breaks are allowing my dodgy shoulders to be ready for the workouts. Strength gains, no soreness and 2 lbs + in 2 weeks. 2-3 30-40 minute workouts a week. Balanced diet, creatine, hydration, good sleep. Seems like a winning formula for my older, hardgainer body. I normally go too hard, tweek an old sports injury and set myself back repeatedly.

I’m a very inconsistent because of my job. But I do back off, and incorporate the methods you guys just wrote about. I do this mostly, because I’m afraid of overdoing it, especially after a week of not being able to get a workout in.

I'm fairly consistent but during the year I will have an end of season break for a couple of weeks off and a mid season break of a week. My training will be of the format of 3 weeks on and 1 week off. It is never linear fitness has to have peaks and troughs

Which way round would you do it if I work out everyday, cut the volume by a 1/3 but still lift everyday or cut the lifting days by a 1/3 and do the anabolic style stretching days on the off days. Great show guys thanks for all your content always makes my mornings better 🎉

This year around Feb I started working out 4 days a week, maybe 30 minutes if that, with a random one mile run on off days. My wife made fun of me, that I was only in the garage 15 to 30 minutes. After three weeks she started seeing results and wanted to join me for my workouts. She wanted to workout 6 days a week, because of course if we’re seeing results with 4 days, 6 would be better. 🤦🏻‍♂️ she didn’t last long. I bought MAPs anabolic last week and will be doing that with her. We’ll see the results in 11 weeks. After that, we’ll check out MAPS 15 minute in the fall.

If I had to guess what's optimal assuming your training has the right intensity, I would say every other day so workout then rest rinse and repeat or 3 days a week.

Hot take: I think they should do a MAPS 15: Athletic or maybe MAPS 15: Dynamic that incorporates flexibility and power based exercises like MAPS Performance and Strong. Like the 4th listener, I'm going through MAPS 15 Advanced right now, after finishing MAPS HIIT and MAPS 15, and I've decided that this is the way I'll be training for the foreseeable future (I'm a new parent). I don't want to neglect my mobility, but there's no program for me.

Maybe i missed it but... I hear some valid points but i dont think i heard them address people who just enjoy being physical, often, for long periods of time and just dont incorporate things like hiking, biking, sports etc. I feel like this is kind of my deal. Going to the gym is just so much easier and fits into life.

Tesofensine sounds similar to MDMA which also increases levels of dopamine and serotonin though I'm guessing to a much lower degree

I'm doing push pull leg routine, during the push day 1 should I take 4 type chest exercise with 3 sets per exercise and then 3 types of shoulder exeercise with 3 sets per exercise?

Hi guys, mphormones test showed low free T, a doctor told me that if I go on TRT I can never go off because I'll feel so good on it, it will be almost impossible to go off. Is this true and what are the other dangers?

Tesofensine is very interesting but the nausea, insomnia and headache side effects are a big no way for me as I already suffer from insomnia and chronic migraine
