@@strikerdoc_4205 Civil War reenactments are meant to teach the public about the issues and realities of Civil War life. The troops fire black powder 'blanks' at each other [loose powder, not even paper wadding] and units 'take hits' to simulate casualties. If they're reenacting a specific battle, units will take casualties in proportion to their historical counterparts. After and between battles, it's common for the camps of the troops to be open for visits by the public, where questions can be entertained. Most battles will include all three major branches [infantry, artillery, and cavalry], and some will include even stranger branches of service. Where I'm at in Washington State, we even have a telegraphy wagon.

I *think* so, you can flip all the parts in your 3d printing utility. The only thing I can think of that might mess with that is all the screw threads being reversed (is that how that would work???), but you could solve that by just using real M5 screws which will ream it back the other way.

@@guester_blaster2013 that wasn’t really the case anymore during the 19th century. The 19th century saw a lot of improvement in firearms and was therefore the last century to have line battles. Firearms became quick to load and were much more accurate. There may not have been vehicles, but there were still many deadly heavy weapons. Something like a Gatling gun or mitrailleuse could throw out a huge amount of lead and cause a lot of damage. If you really wanted “honorable” warfare, I’d say go back to about the 18th century at the latest, but there were still many deaths just from natural conditions and no technology to fight them. Though, during those times war was more widespread and just a natural part of life for almost everyone.
