My Premier Project Plans: paskmakes.com/premier-project...
My Free Plans: paskmakes.com/free-plans/
A soon as I publish a video I usually remember something I meant to say. This time I forgot to mention I need to make a back screen to stop chips falling down the back of the workbench. I'll probably make that from the tin I took off the original workbench shelf. Also I will seal the inside of the drawers with a couple of coats of water based varnish.
As always I'm happy to answer any questions.

One note about your welding, be careful how often you weld in shorts as the weld arc can be hot enough to actually give you sunburns with enough exposure.

Now you can use the mill to level the head of the vise you want to restore, it'd be an interesting follow up for both of them, either way excellent job on the bench!

I seem to be part of a bygone time when everything that could be repaired was repaired. A lot of the younger generation just wants to replace something old, even if it is still in good condition, with something new. I like to see you repurpose things. Both of my grandfathers helped in teaching me to fix something instead of sending it to the junk pile. My sons are still amazed at what I try to fix before getting a new one.

I'm only 1 minute into the video, and I'm just smiling to myself, as my prediction is that this project will be similar to the proverbial 'Grandfather's Old Axe.' You know, the one that has been in the family for over 160 years? They just don't make them like that today. All those years and we've only need to replace the handle three times, and the head twice. OK, back to the video; I always love them!
