Some good tips in there. Instinctively it looks like the clamp holds down the back rather than the toe of the clamp. But hey if it works it works.

The idea is good! I would like to note that the cutter needs to be sharpened on a diamond wheel. And with the fastening mechanics, not everything is good either - on the opposite side of the fastening pad bolt you need a good protrusion - a stop. A flat washer is not a solution.

It's so cumbersome to do this all in a lathe. A mill makes this way easier.

Te felicito por tus herramientas pero te recomiendo para el portainsertos darle un ángulo de unos 7° de incidencia para que te funcione mejor y esos buriles de tungsteno son una maravilla para muchos tipos de acero incluso templados trabajan muy bien yo los llegué a usar .

It is better to use an oil that has a higher instantaneous flash point because this reduces the possibility of a fire.

I was also told to use old engine oil back in the day for oil blacking. We did this in the training school for the tools we made. I think the process is now discouraged due to the carcinogens given off during quenching, it worked well though.

Ten nóż tokarski nie będzie działał prawidłowo, ze względu na błędne kąty ostrza. Jest zerowy kąt przyłożenia, a powinien być ok. 7... 10 stopni. Oczywiście ta płytka jest przystosowana do ujemnych kątów natarcia, co dla amatorskiego wykorzystania nie jest dobre. W ogóle żeby nóż skrawał, płytka powinna być pochylona (czubek obniżyć). Brak też podparcia płytki (za dużo wystaje, więc pęknie w pracy). Płytka dociskowa niewłaściwie dociska płytkę z węglika (powinna na zasadzie dźwigni). Najprostsze wyjście z tego, to spód noża ściąć w klin (pod płytką zebrać ok. 4mm, a na końcu noża zero. Powinien skrawać o wiele lepiej. Pozdrawiam. (jak potrzeba, to podpowiem)
