The brim reeds were purchased from :
thetrimmingcompany.com/
and
www.petershams.com/
The sprung wire was also purchased from Petershams
Traditional wire is available from both the above, plus
www.parkinfabrics.co.uk/

Hi, Just a quick comment to please the Mighty Algorithm. In time I would like to learn how to use the brim wire to shape the brim, for example if you have a Fedora that you want to flip the brim of. or, even more, how to shape the brim on a late 1920s clock (like in Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries). But it can wait. Yours, Ann

I use whatever wire (jewellery type) I have at hand and tend to either tape or, if I happen to have some to hand, use crimp beads or tubes reinforced with E6000 jewellery glue. I dont know how long it will hold up but I try to make the joins as invisible as possible usually using long crimp bead/tubes in much the same way as you use those ferrules (I go for bigger than the wire to be able to overlap and give glue something to hold too).

Hi Jane, Sprung wire wouldn't bend easily, you might need to look at memory wire? Mind you I haven't made a wired packable hat
