Laura! I absolutely LOVE this project. Last video when you did the wreath it actually made me think of Williamsburg. Then in THIS video you actually mentioned it which burst forth one of my most favorite childhood memories. When I was about 8 my family and I went to Virginia at Christmas time and one of the things we did was visit colonial Williamsburg. Upon entering one of the homes we had to wait our turn outside but above the door my eyes were drawn to a HUUUUGE wreath with pomegranates on it, greens, orange slices. I had never seen a pomegranate before and was fascinated with whatever those red fruits were. I built up the courage to ask the volunteer what they were; we talked about them and when we got back to home in Oregon, my mom bought one and opened it up for me to see the inside. Fast forward 30 years and I was taking my own son on a walk through colonial Williamsburg and found the same house that had had that wreath of pomegranates over the door, way back when. Well…there was no wreath that time but because of that visual imbedded in my mind, I was able to tell my son about that precious memory. It’s funny how years later one “simple” project can spawn such a beautiful thought. Thank you for all you do. Obviously you do more than flowery things and play in the dirt. This is all somehow therapeutic every once in a while when we don’t even realize it! Merry Christmas to you and your whole family. ❤

I was having a really hard morning and was needing some time with a friend to help get my mind off the grief I carry from the loss of our son. This video felt like spending time with my friend doing relaxing pretty projects and chatting. You and your family have become a little respite in moments like this. So pretty!!! Fruit topiaries are new to me!!! Didn't even know that was possible, very creative!!! In China pears symbolizes immortality and prosperity, while in Korea it symbolizes grace and nobility. It's a very apt fruit decoration for Christmas and New Year, because it invites all positive things to the house...😊

Russell: Mom, pay attention to ME! lol For your square, plastic drip trays, get some iron colored spray paint and paint the outsides to match the pots. They'll blend in better. I love the natural house decorations this year with all of the fruit.

Loved seeing Russell as always....BUT, LOVED, JUST LOVED seeing Samantha Grace even for the few seconds (doing her thing) and loved her hat with the large pom poms... soooooo girl...y....the topiaries we're amazing. Now the other garden channels will be copying you ( they always do..... have you noticed?, But I think you may be busy, busy, busy..But my husband always says that that is the greatest form of a compliment is when someone copies you. You knocked it out of the park, Laura...have seen pictures in years past of nuts being on these topiaries in the house and bay leaves, I think, but maybe they were artificial bay leaves. Just beautiful, gal. God has given you such talent and you work soooooo hard , but these fun projects and gift pots you do for others, etc. Balance it all ❤️❤️❤️💜💜💜
