Are hex nuts high carbon steel? I'm planning to make some knives out of them. I don't have any experience working with hex nuts before, I guess they have pretty similar carbon content with files? I'm looking forward to get some answers. Thank you

​​@@RustLegion Hi, don't know if it's still an actual issue, it's been a year, but while forging a san mai and you want to achieve symmetrical-ish layers you need to beat one blow at a side, flip and beat the other constantly flipping the billet. This will produce as even layers as possible by hand. Good luck!

Thank you :) Well yea not entirely , but still, a part of it is the nut :D , yep bearing steel is awesome. The one that I used for edge here is k510 - very similar to bearing steel (52100)

Hello , I am not sure how to make an exact template so I made a drawing with the sizes. You may say that the profile of the blade is almost 99% the same , but the rest may vary slightly. - i.imgur.com/XhCBpfk.jpg , if you have any questions let me know.
