Glad to see the couple preserving the beautiful broken marble flooring and making it work with the color palette of furnishings in their home. I especially like the mobile island that can be moved around depending on needs. I am not quite convinced about the “work area” in the foyer (doesn’t seem like enough countertop depth to accommodate one’s legs) though it might do for short work sessions. All in all, a nicely designed and furnished home with peaceful vibes.

Oh wow, Japanese minimalism. They did it really well. But I wonder if they cleaned up the house because the camera crews came, and it becomes messy again once they leave? Cus for me, it's so difficult to keep my room in order.

They probably did, but it's also a personality and habit thing. My home is always neat and clean, but even neater when guests come over. Everything has a place, and everything must be returned to its place each night. The only thing I can't fight is the dust, especially on higher shelves and stuff like that.

the flooring ruins the whole japanese zen look but its also marble so it doesn’t make sense to hack it away

no need to ask about WWII from grandparents, when Singaporean dramas and textbooks had already covered that . Japan is also a hot tourist destination for Singaporeans
