I will be making my own coins from old bullet casings using metal casting in my backyard foundry. I designed these coins in Fusion 360 and Blender to show my youtube channel name. I printed them on my Elegoo Saturn resin 3d printer. Then I sand cast them in my DIY foundry furnace.

I did want to point out, for the sake of your health, that you shouldn't be touching the resin prints with your bare hands until they've been fully cured. the resin is otherwise toxic, and prolonged handling over many prints can start to have an impact on your health. stay safe man, keep the gloves on to handle them until you're done curing them in the sunlight.

Hi, I have watched a lot of your videos and like every one I watch. I am setting up my own home foundry and would like to know if you made or purchased your tongs for lifting and pouring the larger crucibles. Everything I have seen online is only for the very small crucibles. The tools you are using is what I am looking for. If I have to make them so be it but it would just be easier to buy them.
@robinson-foundry

@@robinson-foundry Awesome. I could design my own but yours look perfect for what I would like to do so I will look forward to what you come up with. I hope you can do it fairly soon. The Large tongs and Pouring Shank are what kept me from starting to do Lost PLA casting. I want to do this but also want to do it safely. If I am stuck at this point I am sure you can help out many others like me to get to the next step. Keep making these videos that are inspiring.

I visited a small bush range in BC last week and scored about 20-25 .300 win mag casings a previous visitor didn't want to pick up. I'm giving the good ones to a reloader friend but the necks on a few are split and unusable for reloading. Those are perfect for melting. I cried a little when I saw the large caliber brass you were butchering in the name of art. Consider weeding out the damaged ones for melting and giving the re-usable ones a second chance.
