Your method for sealing and filling the woodgrain using SW products is most notable. I'm going to try it out; much faster and professional than any brush application that I know of. Continue your great work. You're very informative and skilled!

WOW! THAT is a lot of WORK! I do appreciate the detail of what you are doing as it helps me to try to match it. I also think that adding the steps of getting rid of your "waste" is a good thing because that too is a huge thing that adds to the entire day's work. Thanks Matt.

I am trying to remember if you have a drum sander, If you do why not using. If you dont it would have been worth it to get one, nevermind the time, The dust you are dealing with even with collection on the saader was likely a mess and i would think a drum sander would have greatly reduced the thret of breathing that dust. As always a great job. You are a tough guy. A lot of respect for your abilities and work ethic.

Massif amount of work to do what you have done so far. It's looking great Matt. Batch size for sanity is important and like you said, you can work the next batch as this one cures out. You'll get there in the end and as you and your family look at the end result it will all have been worth it.

You should look into Sherwin Williams new Gallery Series paint, water based one part that dries within an hour for light use or respray (complies with KCMA standards).. I am looking into for my kitchen, it is spray only. and not cheap, but less toxic (and available to me, the 2k paints cannot be sold to regular people in MD). I have no affiliation with SW.

10/29/23; Wow Matt, 2day watched yur video on the making of window extension jams & long top trim boards. Lots of time & precision machine work in your very well equipped shop...with studio lighting! Your painting...sooo many coats of fancy 2 component Epoxy paint on these pieces- with high-end HVLP & gun is waaay beyond my DIY patience, sanding sponges/rag wipe off & foam paint brushes...using standard off-the-shelf paints from HmDpo/Lowes. Yup, you are definitely a Furniture & Cabinet grade craftsman & artist! Very nice video, lighting, camera close ups, audio control & narration. Also love to see those kids toys, bikes & misc colored buckets & brooms in the background...very normal & relaxing to see your surroundings both inside your home & beautiful acerage outside. All great stuff from you. Stay safe & carry on! 💪🔧🪚🍷

The gun, is a Fujispray turbine system, you can get them pretty cheaply used sometimes. There are cheaper models like the Earlex (I think that is how it is spelled) that work just as well for DIY projects. Just google Turbine Sprayers.

The amount of time it takes to paint woodwork or cabinets compared to staining is at least three times the amount of work. My kitchen had a total of 70 doors & draws that took me 7 days to complete. Spray sand spray sand spray sand and on and on and on never again .

With the meticulous work you do focusing on the quality materials I was a little surprised that you used OSB sheeting instead of real plywood. It’s more money but no comparison with the moisture continually going in and out of the walls. I wouldn’t use OSB to build a doghouse…

Matt I have a bone to pick with you concerning your dismissal of cabinet making and finish carpentry as it's kinda woodworking. It most definitely is WOODWORKING and I personally think it's as difficult or maybe more difficult that building a piece of furniture. In your most recent happy hour live stream you stated something to the effect that some of what you're doing you don't think a cabinet shop has seen. I truly doubt that... if your architect put it in the design then he probably got the idea from a cabinet maker. Using domino's isn't new or unique either! We could debate effectiveness vs cost all day long, but in the end glue and a pocket screw is faster and more than adequate for the job. I applaud your desire to take on this kitchen and sunroom project and understand you're using it to earn a living through content creation, but I think in the end the cost of having this work done off site in a dedicated cabinet and millwork shop would have been offset by the savings of not conditioning an unusable space. Just my opinion, but I felt the need to stand up for all those who do finish work and build cabinets for a living.
