Making the Gold North Star Pendant

4 ай бұрынThe North Star pendant is made in 14k solid yellow gold and features a 1/3 carat natural diamond at its center. Sapphires and diamonds (14 besides the center stone) radiate out from it creating stunning, glimmering piece. It is 26mm at its longest and 20 mm at its widest measurement.

Around 5:28 you use a graver to trim around the bezel, what is the purpose of this and can it be done to bezels that have stones other than diamonds in them, or can it only be done to high mohs hardness gems? Lovely pendant btw :)

Cleaning up the inside of a bezel setting with a flat graver just makes it nice and clean looking. You can definitely do that with softer stones but just need to be careful as you’re doing it so you don’t scratch the stone.

I appreciate the compliment and having you here :) After more than 10 years of making coin related jewelry, I’m running out of ideas for it and need to grow or the channel will die. That growth can be painful too and have losses that come with it.
