I have issues with my silver coins getting warped on the reed side. I’m not sure if an annealing process issue or the folding. It’s getting expensive

Fantastic doorbell, and pretty nice tool also🤗😄 Whish I could afford some of Jasons tools 😩 Why don't you hang it inside, above the door, and fix it so every time the door opens or closes the bell chime's. Like every shop had in the old days 😁 that way you will probably keep it goes a long time 😄🐾🇩🇰

So you destroy u.s.a. rare history to make your art. In the future people will see the video and wonder why you chose rare mint state coins instead of just destroying common date coinage. I understand you have a business, just wish you would care more about future collectors and less about yourself.

Rare?
@j0j0kay29 күн бұрын
@@CoinRingsfromTheMint I'm a coin collector and I come in peace. He's upset that you used a "mint state" coin. It's the rarest condition of coin. Certain mint marks (cc, s, p, d, w) are way rarer than others also.

Got a coin punch today finally - not a Jason Works but cost me £68. Used a dapping block and a round punch from a 25 piece set - set cost £29.99 to cone the coin. Then a £75 ring stretcher to even it out and a light wet n dry sand on cut edge and done - my first Quarter coin ring and appears perfect! Chuffed it was good - now when i get a workshop bench etc instead of doing it on a saw horse i'll be ready to make various others 😊 I did anneal it and it turned black ( modern 1989 quarter) so at the end just used very fine wire wool to lightly clean and hey - antiqued look.

Skyler, help me😕 Everytime I get to the end of my coin ring.(without swedish wrap) I put it in the dome block to round roll the edges, only 3~4 mm above flush, and the bloody things squash sideways instead of rolling. I keep ruining the rings. It looks easy on youtube. For the life of me, I cant see what I am doing differerent. 50c 1966 Aussie round.

Hey Skyler, great videos by the waqy... I know you're way past this point, but I have had some problems with my bands getting a wave in them. They aren't slanted, they have a wave in the reed side of the ring. I think this video explains it, but I wondered what your thoughts were... I think it is due to the fact that #1 I anneal them, and #2 because I first stretch them with the reed side down. If I stop doing that on my silver quarters, will that help me correct this problem? Thanks and keep making these awesome videos!!! mark
@CoinRingsfromTheMintАй бұрын
That might help avoid some of the waviness but the main issue is the silver quarters are pre disposed to becoming wavy. It’s because of how thick Washington’s head is compared to the rest of the coin. His head doesn’t stretch at the same rate and creates a wave.
