Making The Most of One Megapixel

One megapixel in 2021 doesn't sound like much, but don't underestimate what that can achieve. In this video, I take a look at the Sony DCR-SR85, an old camcorder from back when the iPhone was new, boldly promoting its one megapixel CCD sensor right on the side of the screen.
I compare it to the quality of a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 6K and take a look at its features and capabilities, to figure out exactly how usable an old Handycam is in the modern age. Lastly, I create a short, hacking themed video reel with the SR85, to show off what can be accomplished with a camera like this today.

I have a Sony DCR-SX45. Yeah, the resolution is dated by today's standards but the zoom capabilities are incredible and not something an iPhone or even many high-end camcorders provide. Different filters can be attached to the lens and the low res of the camera provides almost a VHS esthetic which adds to the cameras charm. Used in the right circumstances, great video can be obtained as you showed. Great video

"You can get into film making with almost anything" True. That quote reminds me of FreddieW's old video where he talked about programs he used. I remember he was known for using programs such as Final Cut Pro.
