“The Ice Cream’s Not Ready” is the debut special from Mal Hall. It was filmed live in Texas while on tour with Anjelah Johnson in the summer of 2022.
The special is autobiographical and explores Mal’s journey into fatherhood based on his upbringing in a single parent household. This independently produced project is the first chapter in a series of comedy specials done in collaboration with director OG.
Mal's been a touring stand-up comedian since 2010. He can be seen in comedy venues around the world as a headliner and as the main support act for Anjelah Johnson and Alonzo Bodden. Mal has been featured on FuseTV, NBC’s Diversity Tour, and Laff's on Fox.

Got to watch Mal live a few months ago with my wife. We both didn’t stop laughing his entire set. Laughed just as hard watching this on the couch as we did sitting at his live show.

This is so cool, both from a comedy and overall concept perspective. You're hilarious, as always, and the quality is excellent, but the sensation of jumping around while maintaining continuity makes this feel almost like a journey into comedy as well as a single special. I love it.
