Like that one time she goes braless or her controversial boxers-showing outfit (which was incorporated in the bridge part "panties sticking out, don't care") Hwasa's verse was all written by her.

I am ARMY to the core and don’t like girl groups much at all but Mamamoo is a bit of an exception, l love most of their songs and performances because they look like they are ready to take on the world. I also have a soft spot for TXT, they also stand out for being different. I guess l like groups who are not following the K pop model. All three sing ,dance and perform with a style of their own. The only albums l buy are of these three groups, l also stream when they have a new album out, l show support for talent that is rising by doing it with a unique style.💜💜💜💜💜💜

These ladies are THE QUEENS! Yes, this song is about telling the haters that their words won't affect Mamamoo, and they will keep dressing and doing things, and have the strong self-esteem to believe that they're hip/trendy no matter what. I love Mamamoo among all the girlgroups. I think they're a talented bunch and I wish them success. I've inserted their songs on my BTS streams, to give some support, but it will take more than that to make them more successful. I hope they get enough from their loyal fans who needs to work hard if they want to bring them up more. Supporting an artist takes a lot of work, ARMY and BTS are a testament of that hard work. It also take money, which we are willing to spend within the budget that we individually have. That's why fans tend to prioritize their support based on who they feel more strongly connected. The loyalty of ARMY towards BTS is absolute, so for me, streaming is the only thing I can do towards Mamamoo. Outside of that, their fans have to work hard to promote the group to get new loyal fans.

Honestly I actually love Blackpink and I think that they are talented, especially Lisa because she stands out when it comes to dancing, she's my bias from the group but I still love the others too....but to me, Mamamoo will always be my favorite Female Kpop group overall because they have those soulful vocals, the charisma, diversity when it comes to their dancing and outfits, the authenticity in their music, which they make on their own and put real meaning into it... they are bold, fierce, confident... don't give a damn about the criticism they get because they know they own it with their talent...they all have a unique beauty that sadly the Kpop industry was too blind to see because they prefer them to be taller and skinnier... like tf they want skeletons... and still had the audacity to say that they weren't pretty or cool enough 😒 ... You were right on the meaning! These girls are talented as heck but when they first started they were constantly told they weren't pretty, they were too fat, too skinny, too of anything and everything. It almost felt like they were always picked apart and constantly compared to other peers. Especially when groups come from smaller companies they get all the hell and complaints from the judgy side of the world. Their fashion is constantly criticised especially Hwasa + Solar for it being "too provocative", no bra, bra showing, shorts "too short", on stage outfit being compared to lingerie and being inappropriate for TV, Solars art of pole dance, Moonbyul being not "girly" enough, Wheein being "weird", them being "overly shy" then them being "overly vocal", crop top being more like a bra, etc etc etc blah blah blah it just doesn't stop. These girls have had struggles individually + together because of the overwhelming amount of comments and criticism. They've gone home crying, they go through anxiety + depression, things can get sad or heavy for them BUT the support + love they receive outweighs the nonsense now! They are finally getting the shinning light they've ALWAYS deserved. In the beginning of their career they were even labeled as "problematic" and the media tried to take and run with it. They've stayed very strong, they've clarified, they've even apologized many times. Best part though..they keep it moving, they stay true to who they are, not what the idol standard is or the rules the feel pressured to follow. It can come of as rebellious to some but to most..this is why we love them! Hwasa said it best when she explained she doesn't, wont, and will never fit into the kpop female idol (beauty) standard so she just has to move forward being her true self and create her own! That's it. Take it or leave it they don't care. Same goes to the other girls and where they stand with it. They have learned and grown to love themselves PERIOD! Everything they touch REALLY Becomes HIP and turns to gold. They could be seen eating a certain ramen brand, or wearing the simplest sunglasses and within minutes it sells out everywhere! No joke. So I say all this to say..this song was ABSOLUTELY a F**K YOU w/ their middle finger up to all the complainers, haters, and media that tries to turn things into bad press when is unnecessary because well...they are HIP AF! the issue with being ridiculous dressed hwasa was when she wore jeans unzipped with high waisted pants underneath. she looked super sexy and gorgeous but korean media started to critisize her and making a fuss out of it. so in this clip she said a big 'fuck you' to all this media that always spreads wrong rumors about them and exaggerate every issue. so yeah you got the message right!

Mamamoo are telling us whatever you are and whatever job you have, you deserve to be blessed and acknowledged for what you do not for what you wear. Hwasa co-wrote and co-composed the title track 'Hip'. About the Universe concept everything starts with Destiny, the song they performed at Queendom. There are 4 universes in the 1st one Moonbyul, Solar, Wheein and Hwasa are the members of Mamamoo but in the other 3 they live different lifes and do different jobs (you can see a rockstar, choreographer, environmentalist, president and so on) but in each Universe the meet with each other in some way because it's their destiny. But reporters asked her about it for weeks and even now present day they are still asking her why she did it, so I love the video was making it seem like she was spitting on them.
