I have the exact same one, my Grandpa from Scotland (parents from Glasgow, moved to Canada in the 70s) left it for me decades ago. I fire it up for my best freinds son who just loves it.

i have this....somewhere.... shant forget spilling meths on arm and it lighting up - as a youth as i couldnt see the flame it took a while to realise what had happened..

Don't know if you're aware Rusty but there are parts for that Mamod traction engine on eBay should you wish to restore it. I have a Mamod TE1A that was bought as a Christmas present back in the early 70's and I'm in the process of restoring it. Been at it a couple of years now as not had much time and life gets in the way but bought a new smoke box off eBay and the rivets, belt and some other bits. It's worth spending on the parts as these engines are worth a small fortune these days to buy new. I did film it when I started the project but somehow with it taking me so long managed to loose the footage, I hope to finish mine before the end of the year with a bit of luck. Great to see that stationary engine running of yours, what were you running it on by the way ? Great video, many thanks.

I had loads of them a few years ago , I restored them , like rc cars it's great when you get one that's been in a shed for years and after a little work you see it run again for the first time , it's seeing the machine under the dirt and cobwebs that gets them running again .
