Manila Cathedral architectural style, actually so similar to Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem (The one with Grey Dome not The Golden Dome one) Anw I love them both the mosque and this Cathedral, lots of love to my pinoy cousins from Indonesia 🇮🇩❤️🇵🇭

After po ng 1879 design, before bombahin nung WW2, wala na po yung octagonal bell tower. Naging towerless siya after ng isang earthquake.

Kindly verify your reference to the establishment of the Church of Manila to the Immaculate Conception. The dogma of the Immaculate Conception of Mary was only promulgated in 1854, almost 300 years apart. The Church of Manila was dedicated by Legazpi to Santa Potenciana.

Sad how they didnt completely rebuild the church. The internals looked way more elaborate before than the current church

The Manila Cathedral is not as beautiful as the Cathedrals in Europe. So why advertise it?

The Manila Cathedral is impressive to be honest. But I admit Cathedrals in Europe are also very impressive. But we have to consider that the Cathedrals in Europe are in Gothic Style. And Gothic Style is not the best against Earthquake. And that’s the reason why our church have thick walls and very thick buttresses compare to Gothics Flying Buttresses. We also have to consider the culture. Because when you go to Mexico their cathedral look very similar to us. That’s my opinion.

Gagawa lang kayo ng historical video on Manila Cathedral kumuha pa kayo ng voiceover with American accent who mangles the Latin-Spanish names. Very distracting. You should have at least taught him the correct pronunciations. Stupid and insensitive. What a waste.
