It's endlessly frustrating when trying to sell players in Football Manager 2023 but the AI constantly low balls you with offers. Most of the time, they don't even reach the player's transfer value and you feel like you could have realistically got more money.
There is a better way! By following this specific method, you can tempt the AI clubs into an auction for your player and methodically increase the fee you can receive for your player.

A tip to reject the old bid faster - on the same window as you suggest terms with the club, you can go up to switch which club's offer to view. Before accepting, go to the other club's offer and reject. You will be sent back to the mailbox and then you can just quickly accept.

Yeah aware of this - it’s more of a habitual way of playing the game for me, and if I follow this work flow it makes sure I don’t forget any steps etc. but yeah good tip

I don't know if this is a thing or not but when i do this, the first bid i accept is from the club with the least amount of money in their bank, hoping the richer clubs will be able to keep bidding more

i wanted to try this on the console version, it’s just that they have a set transfer value instead of a certain transfer value range for a player

It used to be the same in the PC version. I would lowball that number by 10%, then 15%, then 20% to start. If you're at a very small club and the value is less than £50k, consider offering players on frees first before asking for money using the auction method

Thanks, brother. I used this method to sell one of my Flamengo players to West Ham for double the Guide Price. I think I could actually go further but I was happy with the offers. But the player refuses to go 😅. How to convince him?? Cheers from Australia

it's really useful for locked transfert bids but i wonder if it's better than just negociating the normal way when they allow you to do so.

negotiations are very tricky, sometimes you increase just a little bit and they back off, other times you can almost double the fee and they accept immediately - feels like you could have gotten even more

When I try to offer player again for other clubs that I already accepted an offer, nothing happens. Game simply ignore that I again offered this player. After days, there is no even a notification for no bid for the player. Any suggestions?

It doesn't work on me, I try to sell Osimhen for 80m but the price other clubs gave me always stuck at 70m....

What should you do when the player doesn't want to go and also when buying, what if the player doesn't want to come to your club? In the latter case warren zaire emery didn't want to even negotiate with my newcastle club at my first year save because he thought he couldn't 'grow' in newcastle. In the former case joelinton didn't want to leave the club.😢

Depends on database size, league you are in (lower leagues= hard to sell players), players wage demands etc…

I did this and I sold jota and tsimikas to psg. Jota for 75m and tsimkias for 50m not complaining at all

A lot of other FM players say do not set them on the list it will decrease their value.

I think this is a bit of a myth, it depends really. Sometimes they won’t want to leave or have any interest unless you list them.

@@Clayts tnx for your response. I tested it too and it seems only a matter of an demanded listed when players can’t be that high. But I think that has more to do with the unhappiness of the players.

Yeah that’ll happen, try offering him out for less and keep trying. Sometimes though, teams just won’t buy your players as frustrating as that is

I find the AI has a top value for a player and none of the clubs will go over that and that's usually very close to the player's top value price. Is that the same for everyone else?

Yeah, I think that’s probably true. I find that this method allows for you to get to that top value whereas other negotiations don’t.

It does work on Console. With some slight variations to the method. But try it out and you’ll figure out the best way. I sold Zouma for £50 million in a West Ham save

@@ricey9997 well it’s much harder on console to sell players who don’t have clubs interested already because it’s not always possible to get clubs interested even if you offer them to clubs with a ridiculously low price. It seems on PC it is easier to do so.

This seems like a bumch of work for not much pay off. Oliver Skipp was sold for exactly at his value (the game vslues him at 30m when he auctionee him for 25m) and Bentancer was sold for just 2m above hisax game value (his ramge was 35-45m).

The point is, it’s impossible to get the game the fees that the game values players at when selling. This gives you that chance. I mean if you’ve played the game at all I feel like you’d understand that frustration all too well
