Thank you so much for making this video Trish! Made this training aid almost a month ago and been swinging it everyday for about 15 min in my living room for tempo. Played yesterday and the swing was just automatic and natural. You and Manuel de La torre are onto something. Knew this worked when my brother who’s never played golf before had his first range session, could not get the ball off the ground. Handed this to him and showed him how you used it and what do you know he started squaring it up nice and hitting straight good flight wedge shots. I was worried he was going to get frustrated and walk off but thanks to you I think we have another golfer. Keep the videos coming Trish your awesome!

@@815TeeTimeInc If only you were 800 miles closer, I'd call right up for a session. As is, I'm going to have to string up a ball. I'm rebuilding my swing after many years off and it's not coming back together as quickly as hoped (now 5 months later after about 25 years off) . I've seen Manuel too. I think this technique may be all I need to start swinging the clubhead properly and on target. Thanks from TN.

Thanks Trish its a pity that live on the other side if the world or I’d visit. Keep up the great work. I’m finally getting my natural swing back and getting decent scores. This idea will definitely improve me. I’ll give it a go and see what happens. Just as a note, I think what people should realise is that this approach requires way less practice than anything else I’ve tried; and that’s a lot of approaches…. Take care and thanks again.

We'll come if you ever get on this side of the World, please come visit.... It still requires practice, but you are correct, it's a lot simpler to learn. Thanks for the comment

Great video's, I made a tennis ball trainer with the club and it made an amazing change in my ball striking in literally a few swings with the trainer, instead of trying to hit the ball it's teaching me to just swing the club. I'll be using that a lot., thanks.

Trish, I enjoyed your video. I had an opportunity to meet Mr. De la torre 20 years ago and learned a lot from the conversation. I refer to Ernest Jones’ “Swing the Clubhead” book on a regular basis. I use a 3-inch rubber ball with a hole for a thin bungie cord instead of a tennis ball because the extra weight makes it easier to create centrifugal force when I swing it around my body.

I have a heavier ball on elastic as well.… But each one of my students gets a tennis ball on a string. It’s just easier to make those

I teach the de la Torre swing concept in WA state. What is the ideal length from end of grip to the bottom of tennis ball on the string?
@815TeeTimeInc

Hi there, so glad to hear you teach the concept as well. I really don’t measure it, I just use my arm as a measuring stick. If you would like, I’d be happy to send you some.

Thanks for the video Trish. I have an orange whip that I use to help me with my rhythm. Do you use the whip in your teaching or do you feel the tennis ball on a string gives you better feedback?
@815TeeTimeInc
@815TeeTimeInc Жыл бұрын
Hi there, thank you so much for your question and your comment.… I actually use both. If I were to purchase any training aid or gadget, so to speak.… It would be the Orange Whip. I use it a lot as well as the orange peel, and the GFX trainer by Orange Whip.

Hi there, thank you so much for your comment. I appreciate it. I use a tennis ball, drill a hole through both sides with a 1/4 inch drill bit. Then I use about 3 feet of laundry line. I punch the string through the tennis ball until it goes through both sides. I knot it at both sides of the tennis ball and then make a slipknot with the remaining string so I can change the length of it. I’d be happy to send you one if you would like

Stay healthy and well!

Hi, I appear to be stuck with a slow rhythm (max ball speed is less than 90 mph). Will this drill help speed up that rhythm/ball speed? I don't slice or hook, but I can't get anywhere near 200 yards, even with driver or 3 wood.
@815TeeTimeInc
@815TeeTimeInc Жыл бұрын
Hello there.… Yes, it should help you with your speed for the whole club to swing. Try being as responsive as you can be. As relaxed as you can be. And if you are relaxed and responsive, you should gain some speed. Good luck.
