Manage your Plugins in Samplitude Pro X

I do not want my Vita instruments on the C drive (Program Data folder). How do I move them to another location and tell Samplitude where to look? I changed the CFG file and removed Program Data and replaced it with the new correct path. When I re-open Samplitude, it does not see my new path. I give up. I have done this years before but cannot remember how to do it. I also tried re-installing by choosing custom install and it did not work. Any ideas?

It's possible to save the favorite settings in the Plugin Browser for use in another samplitude Version, for example?

This might be saved in a special file in appdata somewhere but I never tried to do so..

Marco...it's been awhile. I recently downloaded ProX8 Suite and am in the process of slowly integrating my VIP's from ProX3. I mostly live in the analog world but with X8 I plan to do more in MIDI. I have played around with Independence in X3 but nothing serious until now. I bought a Yamaha DTX kit to re-do some old drum tracks and will likely do them in 8X...but when I opened up 8X today to start a test VIP for Independence I could not find it anywhere. I did an extensive file search and I see it but the VST scan will not pull it into the VIP. Is this something common, or what am I missing. Where's Independence in 8X? By the way Ozone 10 is pretty awesome!

I do use Independence in X8 without issue. Maybe it needs to be reainstalled or updated.

Wasn't sure when you might respond to this then this AM I remembered I have your email. But either way thanks for the reply. I found a post on the Magix site FAQ section regarding this and they instructed to uninstall any older/other versions of Independence. I guess they don like each other. Well that's a problem because I'm not ready to move everything over to X8 yet. I already have a support ticket with them in my inbox so we'll see what they have to say. Thanks @@MarcoPrimeau

I used Samplitude X3 Suite years back and loved it, now considering buying X8 Suite. Your videos on the software are great! One thing I haven't seen you do (yet at least, I've only seen three of your vids so far), is per clip vst loading. In the old version, it's one of the things that set the software apart for me. I was able to record one guitar clip and then apply a vst to that clip, but then in the same track, record another guitar clip with a totally different vst. Is this still possible ?

Yes, you can apply plugin directly on the object instead of the track, that way each object can have a different set of plugin. It is specially great when the takes aren't done the same day and you'd want to EQ them to match.. ;)

@@MarcoPrimeau Awesome, great to hear! It was really useful back then cause my computer wasn't the strongest and I came from the mindset of a guitar player. So when recording guitar, I'd just use two or four tracks (panned left and right), and think of it in the same sense as performing live and switching from say distorted tone to clean tone in the same track. It would offload the vst where needed and swap in what was needed, thus saving some processing power.

Plugins are detected with any version of Samplitude, Just point the correct folder in the plugin settings (if the location isn't the default one) Althought I'm not sure they will retain your saved presets..

Hey there. Do you know does samplitude has the ability to put plugins on input so I can record through plugins?

What you call for is DSP and it can be done only through hardware. Although you can activate a plugin and monitor it in realtime. you need to click on the little speaker icon aside of the record button on the track then in the monitoring setup, you select Mixer FX monitoring/Hybrid engine. That way you hear the effect in realtime (assuming there isn't much latency) You'd need to lower the volume of the input going to the speakers within your interface's mixer so you only hear the effect...

@@MarcoPrimeau ok. So basically Samplitude doesn't have the ability to track and print the effects while recording. I know Protools and a couple of other DAWs can. I was wondering did Samplitude do that

@@PPCRecords It just makes no sens to do it... Once the track is recorded, you can freeze it to apply the effect (a new wave file will be created) If I record with a plugin on the track, I'd want to keep it there to change settings if I need to..

Hey there Marco. How long do you think it will be before Samplitude goes to 7? Seems like it would have happened by now.

I honestly don't know ! Usually they get to another version every 2 years and about.. For know, I hope they still work on resolving some bugs with X6. Some people have VSTi crashes which I didn't experienced myself...

Hey I actually saw some announcements for upgrading. I did not received anything myself but some were talking about it online. On Magix website, someone who buy X6 or upgrade to, it says they will get X7 for free.. But I don't see any dates..

@@MarcoPrimeau Yes...I've experienced plug in crashes but only with the SSL plug ins. All the rest of mine seem to be fine.
