Yeah, ^^ what they said! Some people just know how to communicate and articulate instructions. Some people are just better teachers than others and this guy is one of them.

Brilliant effect. The flowing colour takes on so much life in itself. Well, that's what occurs to me! Thanks.

You really are a great teacher. All your explanations come at the right time for me in my watercolour learning process. I found out you have to acquire a certain level in order to assimilate certain teachings. They might come too early on the learning road, that happened to me with your videos a year ago. Now I do understand so much better and started using your advices. And also I just ordered your book! 🙂Thank you for all that

Another helpful video, I learn something every time I watch you. I've been painting with acrylics so all the water is really hard to get used to. I think this is going to help me alot practicing to use more water. Also with the heat lately this'll be great lol! Thanks so much!

Hi Marc, wonderful tutorial. A quick question, when you are growing the wash in the underpainting, do you use the same brush for different paint, or do you switch brushes? Similarly do you use the same brush for blending edges? Thank you.
@marctaro3 жыл бұрын
Oh yes, all one brush! I just keep it clean with a rinse and a flick. You 'flick' out any dirty water into a bucket or on the ground if you're outside.

When you are charging colors how do you decide what colors to work with? Is there a formula you use or just personal preference. Also, when charging the colors is it random when you change the color? It doesn’t appear to be as simple as warm colors in the light and cooler colors in the shadow?

May I ask which beautiful brush you use? Excellent demo

Hi Marc. Nice video. Which calligraphy pen and nib size is that?
@marctaro3 жыл бұрын
Hey A Sem - it's an old speedball dipping nib in a wooden handle. It's a flat or 'chisel' nib, looks like 5mm? One of the most 'basic' calligraphy nibs you might find really. Was probably 25 cents!

+Marc Holmes ..cool; otherwise my next question woulda been "what sharpener do you use?" :-))
@marctaro6 жыл бұрын
I do use those 5mm lead holders on occasion - mostly when doing a very large drawing. Those - I don't really sharpen at all :) Just kind of - draw on the side till it gets a point. :)
