Todo lo que se pude decir de lo que es una diva se encuentra en María Callas. Un aria extraordinariamente poderosa como esta ,salida de la pluma del gran Verdi es interpretada, por la Callas con todo su cuerpo, totalmente expresiva, cada nota, con cada gesto. Muchas gracias❤❤❤

I've watched this many times but I just noticed near the end of the aria, her brooch fell off from her gown and you can hear the drop of the brooch on the stage floor. This doesn't interrupt her performance at all and audience hardly notice.

This is one of the most dramatic and vocally most difficult role in the operatic repertuar, The year is 1962 and Callas voice is still so full, powerful and "flows" like untamed wild river, despite some "critics" ridiculous judgments that she lost her vocal power. She never did! From the first orchestra's notes her face expresses such pain and anguish of Elizabeth...She didn't even start singing, but she was already deep in the image of Elizabeth. Because she was not just phenomenal opera singer - she was also an extraordinary Artist. She lived with the music and follows the music with her soul...

Este video demuestra que la Callas fue una soprano dramática hasta el final de su carrera, pese a que a muchos les gusta decir que era una lírica, una spinto o hasta una ligera (!). El tamaño sideral de sus notas centrales y centrales altas es una prueba de ello.

마리아 칼라스가 왜 위대한 지 이제야 알았습니다. 이런 영상들이 있어서 그녀를 이해할 수 있었습니다. 물론 그녀의 성악적 기량도 훌륭했지만 그녀의 가장 뛰어난 장점은 감정이입과 공감 능력이라고 생각합니다. 칼라스는 어떤 노래를 부르더라도 자신의 재능을 앞세우지 않고 오페라 가수로서 각각의 캐릭터에 매우 몰입하는 모습을 볼 수 있네요. 정밀 시랑스러운 가수입니다.

No. Many of the biggest arias of an opera have a 1 to 4 minute intro of just the instruments, no vocals.

@@mistersmith1883 opera is and always was a very corrupt medium - almost as bad as modern media but not quite that bad.it’s just so sad that more artistes of Callas’s calibre didn’t have the strength to say “NO”

The orchestral introduction of this aria just sort of also functions as a prelude to the last act of the opera, as the character enters a monastery lost in her thoughts to a reprised version of a motif chanted by monks in the opening of the first act. It depends on the context whether an aria gets a long instrumental introduction, no introduction at all, or is introduced by recitative

Non ricordo quale genio critico disse che la Callas era brava, ma che purtroppo cantò per tutta la sua carriera soltanto la mediocre musica dell'opera italiana. Che monumento allo snobismo asinino. In questa pagina ineguagliata Verdi non sbaglia una singola nota, oro purissimo dalla prima all'ultima.

Grandiosa , ma dal 1960 comincia il declino delle note più acute , il cui vibrato si allarga e diventa meno limpido , per il resto sublime , avrebbe dovuto curare la voce e cantare di più e, resta un mito
