So far, this is the best execution I ever found of this incredibly beautiful song. Simply perfect.

The piece is quite extraordinary; very much of its own instrument and a fine balance between soft, refined sentiment and harmonic, structural invention. One wrong move and the whole tumbles down, destroying the splendid, deeply affecting illusion; here there is no gesture out of place, the musical rhetoric deftly handled, with grace and dare I say it nowadays, art.

You can really hear the influence of St. Colombe in this piece. Just beautiful!

Yes, there is so much making me feel about the Concerts à deux violes esgales... Close your eyes and you may think there are two bass viols. Petr is also a fantastic musician...

I believe Jacques Hotteterre adapted this piece into a Prelude in his 1er Livre pour flûte traversière. It was astonishingly beautiful.

Les Voix Humaines (1701) has the same tune of Le Ballet des espagnol from Le Bougeois Gentilhomme (1670) by his teacher Lully. Evidently more than an "hommage".

This delivers the same expansive sound as a synth pad. Unbelievable. Beautiful song.

There is an instrument related to the Gamba, which is exactly like a synth pad. Check out the "lirone".

This is probably one of the best solo pieces written that isn't by Bach.

Good People, WHERE might I find Petr Wagner's version of this Marin Marais classic on an album format? I've searched high & low & all I can find is his take on some of Roland Marais's works. =/

Úžasné! Nebudete náhodou v dohledné době vystupovat někde na Moravě? ZN: Zlín by byl ideální.

Wonderful. You can feel the breathing of the music as if it were a human being. BTW: Do you use a A=432 Hz pitch?
@JBCollinet8 жыл бұрын
The most common pitches for the Baroque A are 415 and 392 Hz (excepted some italian music with A being 466 Hz.) 432 is not likely to be used, but perhaps is it used by some?

I know this is probably a ricidulous question, but is it possible to play this on cello If so, does anyone know of any transcriptions that exist and where one can get them :)
@mimicuatro9716 жыл бұрын
mrcakeman2 There may be a transcription to the cello, but a lot of chords will be lost due to the difference in tuning between both instruments. I guess (I would say I am sure) such a transcription will loose a lot of the musical ideas this work encompass. Hope this help.
