Heaven has gained another soldier. My cousin and best friend Sgt. Steven W. Snyder left us to guard the gates of heaven for us. From an early age Steven knew that he was going to be a Marine. When he gets his mind set on a goal, he's all in. Stubborn and strong he strives for that goal and doesn't let up until he has it. He lived and loved life in the same way, with all he had. May he rest in peace and know how much he meant to all who knew and loved him. Semper Fidelis. *Timestamp around the 8:30 ish. I knew that voice before his face was on the screen. I haven't heard that voice in a week and a half, and I can't express how much it means to me that your video has given me a way to always have that unexpected gift. Thank you for sharing!!!

Ok, I wasn't a US Marine, I was a US Navy Sailor serving from 1966 to 1970. But I had plenty of gun training in boot camp and while serving on Swift Boats in Vietnam... we had .50 Cal Machine guns, M-60 Machine guns, Grenade Launchers, M-16 rifles and usually carried an m-14 Sniper rifle which was kinda useless on a boat on water.... unless your a Navy SEAL... because we kinda bobbed up and down like corks in a choppy sea. But this video motivates me to get off my ass, grab my M-1 Garand and start drilling out in the back yard. Naturally I'll need to do this at night since I don't want my neighbors so see me and I'll have to be very quiet.. once again, because of the neighbors..... but after about a week or two I'll be ready for the silent drill team. Now, regarding my Uniform... remember, I am a US Navy Sailor and may stick out like a sore thumb drilling with these US Marines.... plus over the years I may have put on a pound or... let's just say I've eaten well. So we may need Omar the Tent Maker to fashion a Marine Uniform to fit my masculine body type. With 'Fun' aside I know the various US Military elements are competitive in that they always want to be the best. And if you watch all the US Military Drill Teams, I'd say I, as an American Veteran, I'm proud of them all. Semper Fi to my Marine Bretheren.... and Semper Swift to those Swifties who didn't come home. Watching these US Marines... I feel the torch has been passed from my Generation which fought in Vietnam to these wonderful Marines... and this comes from a decorated Vietnam Swift Sailor. Mark Bell PCF-69

88mike, it is an honor singularly reserved for the venerable battle rifle of our military in its recent history. But what is very surprising to see is the rifle inspector seemingly slaps the bolt open during his inspection routine. That must **really** smart!

SDI SSgt Moch put us on the side of the road and we would get to watch them march by. As to be expected, they were more than sharp! And SSgt. Moch made sure we knew it. The Marine Corps issued Chucks when I was in boot camp in 1967. I guess as long as Converse (Nike) makes them, the Corps will issue them. It looks to me that they are drilling in the PT uniform, which includes the Converse All-Stars.

Did the Marine Corps used to take standards more seriously? Everyone has a super high and tight and you can tell every set of cammies is starched, I just don’t see that in today’s Corps, given I’m Wing but still I’m around ground side Marines often. No one has high and tights.

Robin Hinson Just wondering with your comment "boring"... What do you do or did that amounted to anything even close to what our Marines do? Boot camp is pure torture and extremely difficult, hence the slogan The Few The Proud The Marines That tells you the difficulty by the first phrase "The Few". Just by your comment that expresses rudeness, it shows that you weren't following what you were taught about "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all". This was taught in kindergarten, and if you were into movies as a child, Thumper, in Bambi, was asked and taught courtesy for others. Everything you need to know in life was taught in kindergarten. A refresher course is probably what you're in need of. You should thank every single person that has served our country, in the past, currently, or future, because it is they who put their lives on the line for a nation of people they don't even know, to protect from terrorism. Kiss the ground you walk on and each night, when you go to bed, say thank you to all. So many protected your freedom with the sacrifice of massive injuries, or the ultimate sacrifice by giving their life so that you can sit there and say disrespectful statements and not have to worry that you're going to be hauled off and murdered, or tortured to death. You have, because of our men And women who serve honorably, you don't have to worry that someone hears you saying something that's barred, turning you in and never to be seen again. Keep this in mind... Every person in this video were tough enough to survive boot camp and the crucible. All, at a moment's notice, in the silent drill platoon, are ready to go to war zones for ALL of us.
