One of my acquaintances, a schoolteacher from Kharkiv, serves in Kraken as a combat medic. She used to teach children Ukrainian language and literature, and in her free time, she coached them in a fencing team. Now, she's been wounded twice and is a Knight of the Order of Princess Olga. The tough guys from Kraken and other units were not long ago just civilians with peaceful professions who never planned to be at war. Now, they are the elite of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

I am glad to see words of support from ordinary people from other Western countries. i was born in Donetsk and lived there until the occupation happened in 2014 with later annexation of Crimea. we used to hang around that stadium 9:34 all the time and went to almost every match. i mean the place was so cool Beyonce sang at the opening

My classmate was fighting in the Davinci Wolves and is among those who died on the March 7 2023. Rest in Peace Heroes, you won't be forgotten :( UPD: Name of my classmate was Illya Okolodko, and technically he didn't die on the 7th, but received a fatal wound. He then spent 3 months in a coma, and only then lost his life. It was a really sad day for all of us, and made the war feel much closer to everyone personally.

I am so proud to follow all of them. I have realised I know most of the names, the faces and the videos. I am a true fan of my army. Really proud of you guys, and grateful. When the war started I couldn’t sleep at all. But looking at your work and efficiency, and your calm confidence from the very first days of war, looking at your creativity and constant development, new tricks and your level of organisation, looking at the amount of occupants casualties, it just gave me some confidence, calmness. I can live, I can sleep, I feel your shoulder. You are more than fighting units and the damage you do to the enemy. You became the beating heart of Ukraine.

The guy who refer to as having the “radio voice” is the commander of the azov brigade. He was also exchanged in that prisoner exchanged and send to Turkey, after a while he came back to Ukraine recently and took up the position of the commander of the Azov once again.

The "Madyar's Birds" are your colleagues now: 414th Marine Strike UAV Battalion "Madyar's Birds" (raised in January 2024, previously a company within the 59th Motorized Brigade. Сommander Robert Brovdi, call sign "Madyar", Ukrainian of Hungarian origin from Transcarpathia. Now they are fighting for Krynki on the left bank of the Dnieper in the Kherson region.

They also wanted to learn more about these divisions and how they are related. In fact, all these units, except for the Magyar Birds, originate from 2014, when they were volunteer battalions of nationalists (that is, people who fight in combat tasks, while not being officially part of the armed forces and NOT receiving any money for it. They fight just for their ideas. This was the situation in 2014 due to the fact that the army was destroyed politically and demoralized by the previous pro-Russian governments, so it can be said that the first Ukraine did not lose the war in 2014-2015, thanks to these guys. During the Revolution in 2013-2014, two centers of widespread conservative movements - the Right Sector and the Patriot of Ukraine movement, which went to fight as volunteers. When, after a couple of years, the regular army was finally put in order, Azov and the Right Sector officially entered the service of the Armed Forces and the National Guard. Kyiv and Dnipro Azov, including several slightly smaller Azov groups, eventually formed the Azov Special Operations Forces regiment, which was later renamed the Third Assault Brigade. Kharkiv Azov was subordinated to the Main Directorate of Intelligence and became the "Kraken" unit. But all this time the Separate Special Purpose Unit of the National Guard "Azov" fought in Mariupol and other hot spots. Good top-5 for sure, but also we have K2 battalion within the 54 mech brigade, also special operation forces are quite strong and experienced (staff fighters being involved in regular battles from 2014) - there are elite 3rd and 8th regiments of SOF (former special forces of GUR - Main Intelligence Directorate), and ofcourse actual GUR special forces (unit #10, ShamanBat and some others), also special forces of National Guard (another one SOF NG unit besides Azov) - Omega Company. Among regular linear brigades I'd point out 93rd Mech brigade, 59 Mech, 72 Mech, 92 Mech, among airborne brigades - 79 airborne brigade, which was holding Mariinka for 1.5 years against russian division...

16:42 thats my home area, I was there at first days of invasion. Kraken and Freikorps filled the road around city with burned russian armor, as I heard (but not saw, luckily, only heard. Saw videos of it few days later.). Russians were then trying to locate them, shelling everything around unprecisely with grads or plain shooting from tanks from few km afar, so I had to leave home, to not get hit, returned only some time ago. Luckily, only some windows were damaged in my flat, but the closer other houses were to the road, the higher was damage.
