@@desres2281 That is why they like public transport so much. They can turn it off when it suits them, like they did two years ago. Plus they know who you are and where you are going through your card details (think about it, if it was just about payment choices then I should be able to buy tickets on behalf of other people, yet this is not allowed on buses).

I have personally made it a mission of mine to withdraw and spend as much cash as possible ever since I learnt about the CBDCs and will happily continue to do so. The alternative potentially coming down the road if we don't stop it will be a lot scarier and more inconvenient to say the least than constantly withdrawing notes from a cash machine. Take a stand folks, don't give them the incentive they need to take cash away.

The only thing I ever used cash for was to buy beer at pubs and bars as they were either cash only or had a minimum spend for card. I will do my best to change my ways. The local shopping mall that I work for here in England has gone cashless. Back during 20 20, only 20% of all our transactions through the pay machines were by cash. We were paying G4S a lot of money to come and collect that cash only for them a lot of the time to not be turning up because of Covid and having to lay off their employees. I was against going cashless but the manageress at the time thought if everyone else is doing it why can’t we. The problem is is that a lot of people still want to use cash and it’s causing quite a problem for people who do want to. The major problem is that if you don’t have any physical form of money that you can control and everything about your money is digital Then those who own the digital banks and digital apps have totalitarian and authoritarian control over your money and in a democracy we can’t allow that to happen. I thought I was the only one to think this until Ron Desantis Governor of Florida said the same thing just over a week ago.

I'm confused about how you'll withdraw cash without a card. I won't be going cashless either. And I'm seeing quite a lot of people using cash too!

I am fully aware of this but people think I am crazy. My husband thinks it is marvellous that he can pay on his phone for everything and not carry cash. We, who think otherwise, are ridiculed as were people who dared question matters around covid. Our so called leaders have learnt, over the last couple of years, that people are easily controlled and here we are. To my despair one of my friends recntly said to me 'it was on the news so it must be true'!!! God help us.

With all of the rubbish we have consistently thrown at us, I now think that if it is in the secular news, to think the opposite must be true. Remember the junk we endured of going to diesel and abandoning petrol; and now to abandon petrol and go with electric cars!!!

Interesting this was pushed to me on my feed, I went back to using cash only a week ago, and I tell you, it hurts when you hand over cash, card is easy. This alone makes it better to use cash, you spend less. I don't even carry a smartphone nor card anymore. I feel so much free-er. Maybe that's because this is actually all about control.

I have a feeling if we are forced to go cashless then people will start a new form of trading, using surrogates like gold button, or other commodities that can easily be stored at home or in pockets.

If a shop refuses to take cash, I leave and shop elsewhere. If a restaurant refuses to take cash, they had better put up a dozen high viz signs before I sit down to order and eat, or else they will find they won't get paid.

I use cash as much as possible and encourage others to do so! But as it looks inevitable that CBDC will be introduced, then the populace must insist that there are laws in place to prevent Governments/central bank from mis-using the digital currency. No ability for Governments/CB to restrict, meddle or use information (in a benevolent way), must be part of the deal when the DC comes into play!

This is a VERY serious issue. We should absolutely resist a completely cashless society. It is inevitable that a pure digital currency will be used by a government to control people. It could well be that having an opinion that disagrees with the government will stop you from buying anything. It will certainly eventually stop you from buying foodstuffs and other regular non-specific items from outside your "15 Minute City".
