Bob Symes truly was a wonderful man. RIP Mr. Symes

It's strange though as in later life he's not recognisable in any way to when he was on Tomorrow's World. Bless him

When he said Bob Symes I was instantly transported back to the 70's and watching that show he did on modelling with me ma on summer evenings when I was like 10 or so. He seemed like an old man then, god knows old he is there. Unfortunately he died last Jan aged 90.

I like this old man. Reading the comments I see he passed. But I can relate to him. I have my workshop in a room inside the house which also is my work space....the kind of work that pays the bills. My paying job is a self employed marine LED lighting business owner. I build and sell various marine LED lights for use on boats and I also sell lighting for RV's and specialized projects. But that work does require the same type of tools and workspace as my horrible RC boat and truck hobby which doesn't differ much from the model railroad hobby because I have been into that as well but have no space in my current home to get anything going. Anyway back to the old man....you know he is an engineer, builder, fabricator, machinist....how...because he is missing the tips of some of his fingers. So far I have been lucky, I still have all my digits, but I haven't reached 50 and still work. Just wait until I retire and all my time goes to hobbies. I'm sure I can part with some finger tips.

At 1440 when he showed collecting rain water was great idea. Too bad the EPA frowns upon it on this side of the pond.
