Whenever my husband and I are in a time of crisis he always reminds me that “it’s not us against each other, it’s us against the problem”. Anytime we’re going through something challenging, that mindset helps us face it together! One of the best parts of marriage is having a teammate to handle all the curveballs life throws at ya💕

I dont know if you’ll read this comment but DO NOT give griffin popcorn!! Popcorn is not intended for kids under 3 years old, not only can be it be a very bad choking hazard but the little skin from the inside can get stuck in their stomach from what I’ve been told. Better to be safe than sorry! We usually pack cheeze-itz or crackers/chips when we take our 2yr old.

Abby!!! I just want to say thank you for speaking on generational cycles of addiction. It’s not talked about enough and as someone who was recently so affected by my families alcoholic issues it’s so refreshing that you’re using your platform to speak about it. Thanks abby & matt for always keeping it real ❤️

Do not get a party planner for a 2yr old! It’s so easy, have child games indoor and outdoor. (Outside have a kitty pool, bubbles, chalk!) have drinks and snacks and cake or cupcakes. Aside from that get themed decorations. It shouldn’t cost that much! Also it’s been proven children that age will not remember. You will be 100% throwing the party for yourself. I’ve planned all my daughter’s bdays she just turned 5 and they always turn out great! Keeping it simple and at home is wayyyy easier for this age range.

My “wedding” was $250 for an officiant and his photographer wife. I had just had a near death medical emergency and even though we had only known each other for a year and a half we decided we couldn’t live without the other person. It was at a small gazebo in a park next to the beach. It was just my husband and our blended family of three girls. I wore a $10 white lace dress I got from the thrift store, the girls were in their Easter dresses, and my husband was in khakis and a white button down. We had written our own vows, said I do, did a small photo shoot, and then took the girls to a Mexican restaurant for dinner. and it was the perfect little elopement! 4 years later and we've bought our first house, gotten a dog, had a baby boy who's almost a year old and everything is still wonderful! these 10s of thousands of dollars wedding just baffle me.

I have 2 boys and something important to remember is that boys just have a ton of energy and it often seems very adhd when alot of the time society is just not set up for boys, its very normal for boys to be fully of energy and then in school settings they just label it as adhd when it’s just not natural for kids to sit still for that long. I’ve learned the more time my boys have outdoor the more regulated they are

Please don’t confuse stimulant use with better focus. People with ADHD do not experience the effects the way that Matt is describing. Watch out for aggression, loss of appetite, sleeping problems, and ED. A lot of people get on it who don’t actually need it and end up with these symptoms.

I love how genuine both of you are. My husband and I have been married for 17 years and are going through a marriage class within our church to be able to lead the same class in a few months. It has been such an incredible journey so far. Extending grace, communicating, and forgiving one another keeps a marriage so much stronger. Being careful with your expectations towards your spouse makes a huge difference. We`re all human and can`t expect each other to read one another`s mind so communicating those needs is crucial. Keep doing what you guys are doing!! LOVE YOU BOTH!! Also, Matt`s music is beautiful.

If a doctor prescribes you medicine that you need for a certain problem, of course your body's going to get used to the medicine and your body will be addicted! It does not make you a drug addict, addicted. It's pretty crappy when people get shamed for taking something that they need and people say "oh no you're going to get addicted". If you need it and it works for you who cares. Heart medicine is the same way if you have to take it daily your body will get addicted, cuz you're used to taking it.

His dose could be either too high or too low. If he is still showing adhd traits and she cannot tell the difference, his dose is likely too low. But a high dose can also exasperate those same traits. Most doctors usually start low and go up. It’s a controlled medication, it can be brutal to get a doctor to go higher in most cases…at least in my experience. I think the odds are either his dose is too high OR too low, but either way it’s not the right dose. Edit for more data

This is not true, and blanket statements like this are harmful. It could be any number of reasons, including that he has not had an acclimation period or even that the dose is not idealized for him yet, starting too high, low tolerance, or standard release vs. extended release and fit for his lifestyle. There are also second and third line treatment options for adhd for a reason.

Obviously it is your guys choice for popcorn but the recommended age is 4 and up. My daughter gave it to her first two kids by 2, and they would start choking on it, so her last three she waited until they were 5 yrs old. I'm not a popcorn eater, so I didn't buy it for my three until they asked for it around 7 to 10 yrs old. Edit: When it comes to corn products like puffs, twists, and Fritos and Dortitos, ect is different because they don't have kennels or hulls to choke on.

In 1980, we were poor. Our first babe slept in our walk in closet. We moved the clothes to one side and slid his crib under the other side. It had over head light and we hung his mask bile on the clothes rack above the crib. His changing table was right outside the door. Perfect little set up.

Something that really made me feel icky about Nickelodeon after watching the documentary is the fact that all these shows were written exclusively by men for mostly teenage girls. The first episode of iCarly features Carly and Sam talking about their teacher's "pointy boobs," there's an episode of Zoey101 where Logan laughs about the word "breast" when they're talking about eating chicken breast, etc. There's another episode of iCarly where Carly says, "I'm getting curvier everyday" and Freddy says, "I know." I get that these are things that teens would say anyway, but it feels icky to me that grown men wrote the dialogue for teenage girls to say about their bodies and the bodies of other teen girls.

Icarly when Carly is getting Freddy out of the shower when he broke his leg, and then the other episode of Carly dating the “older bad boy” , her getting her toe stuck in the faucet, Spencer babysitter being weird w him. On Zoey 101, when they are decorating the thing in men bathroom, when Quinn made her Boobs bigger.

Idea for the party- we rented one of the big bounce house water slides for our sons’ 1st and 3rd birthday (they’re two years and a day apart) and it was a huge hit since they’re July babies as well! The next year we rented a table at our local splash pad and that was super super fun too. So those could be something to think about instead of a pool party with little kids! Heads up for the popcorn convo , popcorn is super dangerous for kids under 5-6 years old I believe.

Things other parents think I’m weird for with my boys ages 3&4: cutting grapes up, popped water lily seeds instead of popcorn, little to NO dyes (even make sure the pickles don’t have artificial dyes), no Tylenol (Motrin if absolutely necessary), and we don’t do fever reducing medicines unless the fever is high, I could go on and on

Yesss I cut them up too and I get SO nervous when I see other moms give their toddlers whole grapes. Sometimes even unsupervised! They'll give their 2yo grapes and WALK AWAY. My husband had to help a 1 year old once who was choking bc the parents were socializing in another room- I don't think it was grapes that time, but still.

Very smart about grapes. I used to work in afc home and in my first week the person training me walked away to go to the back home and one of the ladies grabbed a half of an orange that the trainer left in a cup (peeled) and she tried to swallow it. She started choking and I had to give her the Heimlich. I was terrified. She was my age but mentally she was 9 months old. Scary stuff.

I strongly disagree that most Christians get married young for sex. That's actually a very messed up thing to put out there because it is not true. Christian marriages are far more likely to last over non christian relationships. The reason a lot of us get married young is that we take our relationships unbelievably seriously. We go into dating with the mindset that we aren't going to waste our time or the other person's. We are looking for something real and serious because we don't want to give part of our heart to multiple people. That's why, when we start dating a lot of times we get married young. My husband and I were best friends from the age of 10. We started dating at 16 and married at 19. Not for sex even though we did wait, it was because we knew we are going to choose each other every day.

I also think you notice such a different with the guests on the pod that are young married Christians vs the mainstream couples. People that aren't religious, meet and date, travel, live and marry and then possibly have kids... they seem more fulfilled, less naive and more content. Matt feels cheated out of experience and freedom and their naivety shows.

We take them during the week when most kids are in school/people are working. I get so upset too, Abby, when my husband says he'll die first. His dad had a heart attack and died at 53. So my husband is 36. He tells me that I probably only have less than 20 years left with him. It scares so me so much because he has a few others in that side of the family that died in their fifties. Our kids are 8, 5, and 2 months so that would be so sad that our youngest would only be 20.
