King Kendo is accompanied by Dave Finlay who was feuding with Jones at the time. Top notch sound quality for all the tech nerds out there. Let's see you come up with a speaker/amp combination that this doesn't sound shite on.

King Kendo was Bill Clarke and he sadly passed away this last week.

Yes that's why I posted the video dispite the poor quality. I Should have mentioned it really. I have previously posted several other Clarke matches including one without the hood.

That is so sad if he has passed away. Bill got a lot of unfair flak because he donned the Kendo mask but he was a solid pro. I knew him back when he ran Starr Promotions in the late 60s/early 70s. A nice guy. A hard worker. RIP

Re. sound quality - this came off an old bootleg compilation and is several generations down from the original, hence the rubbish sound (and on other matches poor colour signal.) Almost certainly ITV hold this match in their archive in top notch quality - if more bouts get rescreened, maybe this will be one of them.

Not King Kendo's TV debut - he was in a 1982 battle royal won by Big Daddy. (He also appeared as Red Devil teamed with John Raven and lost to Big Daddy and Steve Logan mk2 - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/itBlgpqF3NTFfJc.html )

The Red Devil appearance would not have counted as a King Kendo appearance. I don't remember the battle royal though, do you know if that is online anywhere?

Did Kendo Nagasaki ever get round to suing this guy? Most blatant ripoff I've seen in wrestling.

I don't need to prove to you something everyone remembers. He got his big career break because Brian Dixon knew there was money to be made from the notoriety from the court case and off the back of that Clarke got signed up by the Crabtrees as a rent-a-heel, which got him TV and big bookings, with the ripoff gimmick as just an extra way to get heat.

You are of course correct David. In my extensive Nagasaki collection I have the details of the court case and copies of letters written from prison with apologies and an explanation that he did not realise the name was legally registered to someone else.

Thanks Dave but what we need are some scans of court papers/press reports specifically concerning Clarke and Goodrum going down.

Anyway, it seems this Flimed Video character has deleted all their comments.
