Me too. I left a senior engineering position at a major tech company 5 years ago and no physician ever mentioned menopause or MHT to me. A month ago, I found an amazing new gynecologist and she started me on an Estradiol patch and oral Micronized Progesterone, even though I’m 10+ years post-menopausal. I hope I get my brain, energy, and bone density back, as well as improved sleep going forward.🤞

I was diagnosed with cervical dystonia a neurological disorder for 10 years back, when I reached premenopausal stage my symptoms worsened significantly, I got HRT even though I still had my periods and it made a whole difference for me. I’m so glad I was able to recognize declining in my overall health so early. I’m living proof that decrease in estrogen can be detrimental for our brain and neurological functioning.

Your both powerhouses of knowledge that women need to watch and listen too. This information needs to spread far and wide to save as many women as possible. The knowledge i have gained from Marie has been helping me take care of myself as I have perimenopause signs for the last 8years, since docs won't listen to me. Unfortunately I have been recently diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 40 and will be needing to be put into menopause stage medically. This has made me feel alittle uneasy as l have not thought that far ahead. Now with all the information you have put out there it further pushes in the back of my mind that I need to make sure I do some sort of HRT post surgery. BTW my mother 64, has Alzheimers post breast cancer not even 10 years post her surgeries. This research is so important to save lives. Thank you for getting this info out.

I had Stage 1 estrogen driven breast cancer, 1 cm caught early, removed and no lymph nodes affected but they made me stop bioidentical hormones and progesterone and want to put me on aromatese inhibitors and that will remove all estrogen, I don't want to. I just forwarded this video to my nurse practitioner friend who is also a primary care practitioner. One of the reasons I haven't gone to her as my nurse practitioner is because I'm on HRT and I will stop it when they pry my cold dead fingers from around my progesterone bottle. (I use patches for estrogen) I have gone to three different OB women doctors who refused to order this for me because I have post cervical cancer related to HPV. When they took my ovaries out 15 years ago I had no hormones and no reason to live, depression, I kept thinking it was chemo brain... Finally got my hormones ordered years later than absolutely came back to life

@nicolemerz1731
@nicolemerz1731 23 күн бұрын
There is a lot of controversy out there whether a thing like "estrogen dominance" truly exists... it might just as likely be a lack of progesterone. I am 54 and at 53 also experienced heavy bleeding - my doctor decided to increase my Progesteron dose to 300 milligrams each day. Now the annoying bleeding stopped and I sleep even better... but I needed a blood test to find out that my free testosterone was really really low even though my total Testosteron looked "normal". But I have been on the birth control pill for more than thirty years and my SHBG levels are just too high. My doctor was really scared of giving me the hrt and I had to convince him and I will be his first patient to get testosterone (hopefully soon). I have always been very athletic but the last few years with declining hormones I lost so much muscle strength... I had to become an expert on the topic myself and now teach my doctors and lots of women around me who are in desperate need of help. Many are about to give up their jobs because of the brain fog and insomnia. Women worldwide suffer so much needlessly just because of ignorance and all the Misogyny in science... Best wishes to you and your journey 💪🍀from Germany 🇩🇪 P.S. i very much recommend the podcasts from the British Menopause specialist Dr Louise Newson - she is also fantastic 👍

I really wish there were content to help women in post menopause who have had ER positive breast cancer. Mine was barely stage 1 five years ago. Radiation and chemo for “protection” of potential future cancer. All the Cognitive and neuro potentials of not having HRT as I age scares the living Hell out of me.

Do you follow the social media accounts of Estrogen Matters and Dr. Corinne Menn? They are the experts in options after cancer. There is some new research emerging in this field so they are definitely worth following. Estrogen Matters is also a book and a great resource. On instagram there is also an account called Menopause_and_Cancer that is excellent. Dr. Haver's Menopause Toolkit includes more than just HRT. Here is an article on the topic. thepauselife.com/blogs/the-pause-blog/the-ultimate-menopause-toolkit-an-anti-inflammatory-approach-to-managing-menopause
 For a more comprehensive look at how to alleviate the symptoms of menopause please check out Dr. Haver’s book The New Menopause. It has strategies listed that include non-HRT. thepauselife.com/pages/the-new-menopause-book ~ XO Community Support Team

I love Dr Mosconi and I 100% agree that peri/MONOPAUSE is one of the greatest opportunities of our life to come out better on the other side. Of course it takes work, but it's exciting when we take the right action. HRT is not a solution for all by far and I and my clients continue to be proof of this. A plantbased diet and deep liver care, along with a ton of inner work, does pay off and can alleviate all of symptoms, naturally. I am excited for all that is to come and so grateful for women like Dr Mosconi

What I get from these is how uninformed we w9men areqhen it comes to menopuase as it was never talked about in the past. Young women need to know too what they are going to go through to be prepared and take action.

The Menopause Society has a menopause certification program that is helpful. If you follow Dr. Haver on social media she has a large network of other providers who provide free content and have also written books that contain original citations. Estrogen Matters by Dr. Bluming, The Menopause Brain by Dr. Mosconi and It's Not Hysteria by Dr. Tang are just a few. ~ XO Community Support Team

I agree, find a new provider. I just started MHT last month. I went to a different gynecologist and she prescribed oral Micronized Progesterone, transdermal Estradiol patch, and vaginal Estradiol cream for GSM symptoms. I am 60.5 years old and am more than 10 years post-menopausal. I also have normal BMI & blood pressure, have never smoked, minimal alcohol consumption, and my last cardiac calcium score was zero, so she feels confident that I don’t have pre-existing cardiovascular disease. However, I do have osteoporosis and a family history of dementia so I’m hoping MHT will help with that and other post-menopausal symptoms.

I'm 71 and haven't been myself since my peri began at 43. I was hooked in by the rubbish WHI trial 'results' and didn't take HRT back then. Doctors continued to tell me I'd missed my window. I'm now a menopause advisor and have learned a tremendous amount. Because of this, I've tried HRT 3 times in the last 7 years but it woke up my polyp (which I've now had removed) and I got sore breasts, so in each case, I've stopped taking it. I've been told that the body doesn't like us to start and stop, so I don't now know what to do, but I'd love to try again. I wish I knew someone who'd be able to figure out how to alleviate the breast soreness which is extremely uncomfortable, because nobody seems to know. I'm in the UK and would like to be in touch with someone who would give me another chance, but obviously who's as clued up as the amazing Lisa Mosconi! I'm still looking....🤞🏻🤞🏻

I am angry with my country as we have a shortage of hrt. Impossible to find. Next available batches aren't due till late july early August. These companies need to up their production of hrt as more women turn towards taking it. We are also competing with trans men too now so less availability for us .
@mjjveritas2
@mjjveritas2 18 күн бұрын
But trans men only need to take oestrogen, not progesterone as well, as they do not have a uterus. Women with uterus have to take both.

Due to my mother having had breast cancer 18 yrs ago, (& her momther as well), I can not take estrogen. (I also had a TIA (mini stroke) whiIe I was 35. I'll be 55 this Aug. It was due to a tare in my R corroted artery behind my R ear. So a blood clot formed, trying to "repair the tare."(I Was in the hospital for a wk when they found it on an ultrasound. I was put on blood thinners & bp meds for a yr w/ MRIs ev few mo.s to monitor the healing. (No surgery, thank God!) I am also on bp meds. (Yrs now) I was given progesterone cream to try, ( 1" inserted), but it made me REALLY DIZZY!! So that was a big NO for me!!
